Steamy 0.7.1.1
- Separate Tools and Fixes menu contents. Switching between them opens the requested menu; its navigation highlight follows the selected category.
- Use English for download actions, history, queue headings, progress, transfer status, ETA, tool pickers and the download repository page.
- Default new profiles and the automatic language selection to English instead of inheriting the Windows display language. Explicit language selections remain available.
- Constrain both first-run setup and the welcome notice to the available overlay space, including after resizing.
- Allow the notice body to shrink and scroll; wrap the heading and acknowledgement text so Continue and Close remain reachable in smaller windows.
- Keep the 0.7.1 local package picker fix and immutable published update files.
- Remove the redundant search shortcut from the top navigation; game search remains on the Games page.
- Increase the top bar and label sizes, retain native vector icons and pixel-aligned text, and avoid scaling navigation labels on hover.
- Verify the two menu categories, their selected highlight, and visible welcome actions at 1280×800, 660×520 and 420×400 without desktop control.
- Restore the installed All Games view when returning from a game opened there, retaining its search and source filter. Games opened directly from Home still return to Home.
- Use a shared icon-only information button for Steamless, activation and the other tool pages, keeping their help actions and keyboard access.
- Package the app, tracker, small download setup and portable archive as 0.7.1.1.

Steamy v0.7.1
Fix the local Your package picker closing the installation sheet immediately after selecting a ZIP or Lua file.
- Keep the installation sheet open while Windows owns the file picker and retain the selected package when returning.
- Resolve the picker owner from the visible installation panel.
- Close the backdrop only after a complete press-and-release on that backdrop; a mouse release after the native dialog or a drag from inside the form cannot dismiss it.
- Keep the previous selection and current step when cancelling the file picker. Display picker errors inline.
- Add offscreen regression checks for package selection, cancellation, stray mouse releases and normal backdrop dismissal on the game-page installation sheet.
- Check the supplied Space Marine 2 package as App ID 2183900 with four manifests; no Lua execution or changes to real Steam files are needed.
- Keep the small download setup, matching app payload and portable package at version 0.7.1.
- Preserve already published release files when the tag workflow runs again, preventing temporary download 404s and mismatched update checksums.
- Reconcile both update manifests with the final GitHub assets and verify the real 0.7.0-to-0.7.1 updater download, checksum and installation in an isolated test folder.

Steamy 0.7.0
Setup hotfix (2026-10-12): The current download packages include the XStoreUnlocker removal and were built from commit 4b11f2f. The original v0.7.0 source tag remains unchanged; use this commit for the corrected package source.
Steamy 0.7.0 brings the small all-in-one download installer, a more consistent artwork-driven interface, the original-script DepotBox import and a large set of responsiveness and state fixes. The app, playtime tracker, installer metadata and release packages all use version 0.7.0.
Setup hotfix
- Remove the unsupported XStoreUnlocker executable download, which prevented setup from completing because the upstream archive only supplies XGameRuntime files.
- Remove the obsolete Unsteam launcher and its unavailable download entry.
- Verify that all eight remaining setup components have matching public GitHub release assets, download successfully in a clean isolated folder, and prepare again using verified caches.
- Verify the packaged app's installer-only preparation mode, 31 installer checks and 25 installer interface checks without starting the main app or changing Steam.
- Isolate BetterSteamTools download tests from an already prepared user cache.
- Refresh the GitHub screenshots for Games, game details, install steps, Steamless, UC Online and the small setup using offscreen rendering.
Small setup and portable distribution
- Make
Steamy-v0.7.0-Setup.exethe small download installer again: approximately 1.84 MiB, without a large embedded app archive. - Download the matching 0.7.0 app package, verify its size and SHA-256, and install missing Microsoft .NET Desktop and WebView2 components automatically.
- Prepare eight supported tool components during setup: BetterSteamTools, Steamless, CreamInstaller, UC Online, ColdLoader, ColdLoaderProxy, Goldberg and the activation generator. DepotDownloaderMod is supplied with the app package.
- Reuse verified tool caches when setup is retried. Stop preparation with a useful error when a required package cannot be obtained; do not report incomplete preparation as ready.
- Download tool files without running the downloaded tools during preparation. Sources that only support manual browsing remain manual.
- Request the installer's own release version and reject a different release, so a 0.7.0 setup cannot silently install an older app.
- Preserve the selectable installation folder, Start menu shortcut, optional desktop shortcut, cancellation and previous-installation backup behavior.
- Ship
Steamy-v0.7.0.zipas the complete portable package with private .NET 9.0.20 runtimes for both the app and playtime tracker. - Preserve the app's WPF
WindowsBase.dllwhen adding the tracker to the portable folder. - Keep the animated native setup, vector branding, embedded Google Sans fonts, display text formatting and Windows motion preferences.
- Retain full embedded setup as an optional packaging variant rather than making the main Setup EXE large.
Games, game details and artwork ambient
- Keep every catalog card opening the game details page. The Install action then asks whether to download in Steamy or install through the Steam client.
- Guide direct Steamy installation through method, source, depot/files and location steps. Steam-client installation keeps its own source and client-folder steps on the same game page.
- Show large portrait covers with readable title fades and remove the redundant “Game” badge.
- Carry colors sampled from game artwork continuously through the window background and library header. Use the same window coordinates to prevent a horizontal seam beneath navigation.
- Strengthen the artwork-colored glow above the grid and around each card. The ambient is present before hovering and has enough space to fade at the first row.
- Move the first library row 26 pixels higher in the checked layout and remove blank spacing from hidden search hints.
- Keep search hints, suggestions and loading indicators readable without reserving their height when hidden.
- Preserve game descriptions, achievements, notes, launch options, playtime, last-played information, installation folder actions and Steam/community links.
- Show a gray Downloading action with a blue progress line while the selected game is downloading, and update its state as the queue changes.
- Prefer the active download over a queued duplicate for the same game; react to priority and queue-position changes.
- Refresh game details when the library replaces its immutable game record, including install state, current folder and Play availability.
- Keep the shared compact glass navigation, search, settings and download controls, with synchronized download status.
Cover cache and responsiveness
- Give cached artwork its own bounded loading queue, separate from slow network artwork requests.
- Load a cached cover even while four CDN requests are blocked, and try existing fallback cover files before probing additional URLs.
- Reuse decoded frozen images and disk artwork caches rather than waiting for a new image download on every visit.
- Correct the artwork result flag: a missing cover is a failure, and an explicitly requested header must also be present before success is reported.
- Keep card rendering virtualized and retain the soft glow without introducing a live blur or window capture for every card.
Dashboard, trailers and installed games
- Extend the artwork-derived background into the Dashboard and keep navigation readable above spotlight artwork.
- Retain the spotlight, upcoming-game covers and animated countdown, with cached metadata and artwork for return visits.
- Keep trailer previews within their artwork viewport, with playback lifecycle handling when navigation or visibility changes.
- Preserve readable game logos, rounded artwork clipping and native display scaling for the refreshed game and dashboard surfaces.
- Add local installed-game scanning and game classification to the library alongside the public Steam catalog.
- Include completed Steamy downloads in the installed library and retain their recorded installation paths.
- Support Steam playtime data and the separate local playtime tracker, with matching 0.7.0 tracker packaging.
- Keep game preferences and activity data separate from game installation files, and expose storage locations without including stored credentials in reports.
- Explain application data locations in the storage interface and retain the once-per-version acknowledgement flow.
Downloads and navigation scrolling
- Fix the UC Online page's navigation embedding so expanded Settings and Backups can scroll down to the restore action.
- Apply the same explicit page-scroll ownership to Downloads; verify that long download histories remain scrollable inside the real navigation host.
- Let the library glow fade within its padded scroll viewport instead of cutting it at the inner presenter edge.
- Retain pause, resume, cancellation, retry, repair, priority, filtering, queue and history actions.
- Keep existing files available for resume/repair and preserve explicit status messages when depot selections need attention.
- Repair corrupted German characters in download menus, search placeholders, separators and the close button.
DepotBox and Steam-client import
- Preserve DepotBox's original Lua for “Install with Steam”. Steamy transports the provider script without interpreting its Lua statements or rewriting it into a smaller metadata script.
- Support original-script ZIP packages, Lua attachments served as
application/octet-stream, and the provider's Lua-only fallback. - Import the requested app's script into the configured Steam Lua folder and accompanying manifests into
depotcacheusing the existing staged write and backup transaction. - Keep the direct “Download in Steamy” path separate: it still parses the depot IDs, keys and manifest metadata needed by DepotDownloader.
- Retain HTTP/API-key error handling, bounded UTF-8 content, archive path and filename checks, manifest validation and isolated staging directories.
- Do not install HTML verification pages, corrupt archives or ambiguous Lua filenames as game scripts. Steamy itself does not execute the transported Lua.
- Add regression coverage for helper/wrapper Lua, unchanged script bytes, ZIP and Lua responses, endpoint fallback, invalid responses and unchanged direct-download validation.
UC Online
- Integrate game-folder inspection, executable selection, game/network App IDs and the upstream backend settings in one tool page.
- Retain review-before-apply, encrypted saved backend settings, backup selection and restoration of original files.
- Accept valid uppercase
.EXEfilenames while preserving PE and architecture validation. - Validate App IDs and required backend settings before downloading the tool package.
- Move cache lookup, planner work, executable checks, backup enumeration and restore hashing away from the UI thread.
- Remove synchronous directory-existence checks from command eligibility while typing a game path.
- Reset the previous game's selected match, App IDs, settings and status when changing folders; allow the same game match to be selected again.
- Propagate cancellation during Steam lookup and avoid an unconditional claim that files were rolled back.
- Finish preference and backup bookkeeping after a successful apply commit even if cancellation arrives late.
- Verify every stored original backup before changing any game files during restore, preventing a damaged later backup from causing a partial restoration.
Tool pages and inherited hotfixes
- Keep Steamless, activation and UC Online pages on the shared glass surfaces and compact tool layouts.
- Move “Without token (dummy)” into activation Settings as a c...
Steamy v0.6.4.7
- Move GreenLuma installer discovery off the UI thread and cap Downloads traversal at three levels to avoid long pauses when that folder is large or slow.
- Replace the permissive Steamy terms with a proprietary license: personal and non-commercial repository forks are permitted for evaluation, while separate app clones, redistribution, and commercial use require written permission. Preserve separate third-party licenses.
