Beta Release

This is a beta release for testing the state machine refactor. It contains no user-facing behavior changes — the UX is identical to v2.1.2. The internals have been completely rewritten for reliability.

What Changed (Internal)

  • Formal state machine — all app state flows through validated transitions
  • Single input gate — every recording trigger (hotkey, pill, tray, UI) goes through one check
  • Stateless pill — pill widget has zero local state, receives render commands from main
  • Event-driven transitions — UI acknowledges state changes instead of relying on timers
  • Sidecar auto-recovery — no more permanent "Already recording" stuck state
  • 78 torture tests — double-click, rapid toggles, concurrent calls, crash recovery

Why Beta

Internal refactor needs real-world testing before stable release. If you encounter any issues, please report them.
