No Global Variables?

Thanks, @sh0nuff. You found a real inconsistency.

The daily/weekly/monthly note directory and title patterns use one set of date tokens (yyyy, MM, dd, EEEE, ww, …), but the template {{date:FORMAT}} macro only understood a different, moment-style set (YYYY, DD, dddd), so EEEE and ww just passed through as literal text in templates.

Fixed in cfadfbe (on the v2.14.0 branch): the template {{date:...}} format now accepts both vocabularies, so the tokens you set up for your dated notes work verbatim in a template — e.g. {{date:EEEE}} → Friday, {{date:ww}} → the ISO week, {{date:yyyy-MM-dd}} → 2026-05-29. The in-app Help and the {{date:...}} autocomplete hint now list the accepted tokens too.

Two small notes:

• The tokens are lowercase — use ww (not WW) for the week and EEEE for the weekday, matching the note patterns.
• One difference remains: literal letters are escaped with [brackets] in templates but 'single quotes' in the note patterns. So a weekly title like yyyy-'W'ww becomes {{date:yyyy-[W]ww}} in a template. If that trips people up I can unify the escaping too — let me know.

Ships in the next release (2.14.0). Closing as resolved.
