Opening wrong folder on start and keybinds not working

So this is one issue I am opening to address two bugs. FYI this is on my Nix machine so I don't know if these are appearing on other OS or not.

1. When opening zennotes-desktop, it opens on the desktop folder by default. Solution would be for it to open on the notes it has last opened or on the local vault the user has wanted open(can be seen on settings).

2.I have configured Ctrl+P(preview), Ctrl+S(split) and Ctrl+E(edit) modes, but only the keybind for split works. At first all three works, but once in split mode, then we can't exit using keybinds, ie: rest of the keybinds for the other two modes become useless.
This does not occur when keybinds are default (Ctrl+4,5,6). Only when keybind for split and edit mode has this issue.

Hope these two issues can be solved. Also if we had option to add plugins such as import plugins from obsidian or something would be good.

Both bugs are fixed on the current development branch. Thanks for reporting them together with the exact detail that cracked each one.

1. Opening "the desktop folder" (d31d985). This turned out not to be your Desktop at all. The nixpkgs package launches ZenNotes as bare Electron with the app's install directory as an argument, and that directory is …/zennotes-monorepo/apps/desktop. On Wayland, the nixpkgs Electron wrapper puts a --ozone-platform-hint=auto switch before that path, which defeated the logic meant to skip the app's own path, so every launch opened apps/desktop as a temporary folder session: a vault literally named "desktop", while Settings kept showing the vault you configured. The app now filters its own path out of the launch arguments by value, so the configured vault opens no matter how the launcher arranges its flags. I reproduced your exact symptom with the same launch shape and confirmed the fix against it.

2. Ctrl+P / Ctrl+E going dead in split mode (3933732). Your read was precise, and the "only split works" detail was the tell. Rebound onto Ctrl+P and Ctrl+E, the mode shortcuts collided with the editor's own key handling, which wins while the editor has focus, and split mode focuses the editor. Ctrl+S kept working only because the editor binds nothing there. The mode shortcuts are now handled in the same before-the-editor phase as the pane-focus shortcuts (which had this exact bug once, #124), so your bindings work from any mode with any focus. Verified with your exact three bindings: from split with the editor focused, Ctrl+P reaches preview and Ctrl+E reaches edit.

3. Plugins. A plugin platform has been prototyped and it's on the radar, but there's no timeline to promise. Worth knowing meanwhile: ZenNotes notes are plain .md files and the app opens Obsidian vaults directly (it understands Obsidian's attachments folder), so "importing" from Obsidian is usually just opening that folder as a vault.

Both fixes ship in the next release. If the wrong-vault launch somehow persists on your machine after that, please reopen with the output of readlink -f $(which zennotes-desktop) and whether you're on Wayland or X11.

ok, just one last question. To make tracking of the version with fixes easier, could you tell me the version number of the next release which has the fixes? so I could keep track of tht specific version and then update when it releases.
