ZenNotes v1.8.2
Highlights
- Open any markdown file with ZenNotes (#56). ZenNotes registers as a handler for
.mdand.markdownfiles, so you can open them straight from Finder/Explorer ("Open With"), a double-click, or by dropping them on the dock. A file inside a vault opens as a normal note; a file anywhere else opens in a standalone editor window with full editing and live preview — plus a Move to Vault button to pull it into your vault. From the terminal:zen open <file.md>.
Fixes
- Notes symlinked into a vault are now listed. A
.mdfile symlinked into the vault was invisible in the sidebar (and to search/tasks); symlinked notes now show up and behave like regular notes. - Editor no longer goes blank when toggling edit ↔ preview in the standalone external-file window and the pop-out floating-note window. The editor keeps its text across the toggle, and in-progress edits are preserved.
- Reverse-proxy static assets now load (#58). When self-hosting under
ZENNOTES_BASE_PATH, CSS/JS/manifest were served asindex.html(wrong MIME type) and rejected by the browser; the static handler now strips the base-path prefix so assets resolve beneath the configured subpath.
