ClawLab 2.2.0 is the largest MSI Claw VRR update so far.

Supported devices

  • MSI Claw A1M
  • MSI Claw 7 AI+
  • MSI Claw 8 AI+
  • MSI Claw 8 EX AI+

Support remains restricted to the exact validated internal panels.

Stable profiles

  • 30–120 Hz — recommended ClawLab profile
  • 48–120 Hz — official Intel/MSI range

Both profiles include the Intel LFC correction, startup persistence and the event-driven desktop cursor helper.

The 24–120 Hz value sometimes reported on the A1M and Claw 7 AI+ is handled strictly as an Intel telemetry anomaly. ClawLab does not provide or install any 24 Hz profile.

Experimental display overclocking

  • 48–144 Hz — Stable Experimental; tested on one MSI Claw 8 AI+ Polar Tempest Edition
  • 48–165 Hz
  • 48–180 Hz
  • 30–144 Hz
  • 30–165 Hz
  • 30–180 Hz

All profiles above 120 Hz are display overclocks outside MSI specifications. Results depend on the individual panel silicon lottery.

Experimental installers include a mandatory warning, reading delay, exact risk confirmation, a 15-second trial, automatic restoration to safe 120 Hz and rollback when the test is rejected, times out or fails verification.

Important upgrade instructions

Users of 2.1.2 or any older managed version must:

  1. Run RECOVERY\RESTORE_ORIGINAL_VRR.bat from their older extracted package.
  2. Restart Windows.
  3. Extract 2.2.0 into a new folder.
  4. Install the desired profile.
  5. Restart Windows again.
  6. Run CHECK_STATUS.bat.

Do not use Factory Reset for a normal update. Version 2.2.0 refuses installation when it detects an older managed state that has not been restored.

If CRU was ever used on the current Windows installation, run reset-all.exe from the current official CRU release and restart before installing ClawLab. No CRU reset is required if CRU was never used.

No other application may overwrite VRR or EDID settings. The only supported coexistence exception is ClawTweaks 3.0 or later, which includes the ClawLab compatibility patch. ClawTweaks is optional.

ClawLab changes global Windows and Intel display settings only. It does not inject into, patch, hook or monitor game processes.
