MinUI Zero v1.7.6

@danklammer danklammer released this 16 Sep 00:59

Cooler 8-bit pacing, a simpler Tools shortcut, a folder fix, and a tidier Anbernic card.

  • 8-bit pacing (Brick / Smart Pro): 8-bit systems now run on a 600-1008 MHz bracket instead of a pinned clock, so the governor can settle lower for smoother pacing and a bit more margin.
  • Hidden Tools: now opens with SELECT+START (was L1+R1+SELECT). Every device.
  • Folder fix: a bare-tag system folder like "GB" no longer swallows your "GBA" and "GBC" folders. Every device.
  • Anbernic (RG35XX Plus / H): Files tool fixed, cleaned up SD card folders.

Copy MinUI.zip to the card root to update. Anbernic: flash the image.

@danklammer danklammer released this 08 Sep 06:11

Clear your Recently Played list, crisper screen effects, and a brightness fix.

  • Clear Recently Played: open the list and press Y.
  • Screen effects: crisp at Aspect and Fullscreen, and on Miyoo composited in hardware, barely touching the CPU.
  • Brightness fix: holding the logo button then pressing volume now adjusts brightness (Brick Pro).
  • Files tool: now ships on every device.

MinUI Zero v1.7.4

@danklammer danklammer released this 03 Sep 18:44

A clock that reads right, a tidier menu, and smoother audio.

  • Clock fix (TrimUI): the firmware's China timezone flipped AM/PM; the timezone is pinned now and survives reboot. Add a timezone file at the card root (e.g. America/New_York) for DST.
  • Tidier menu: no-recents hides Recently Played, hide-tools hides Tools (L1+R1+SELECT to reach it). Every platform.
  • Smoother audio under load: the resampler trims itself so hitches recover instead of crackling (TrimUI).

MinUI Zero v1.7.3

@danklammer danklammer released this 02 Sep 10:21

A clock that sticks, subtler screen effects, and smarter CPU tuning.

  • Clock survives reboot (TrimUI): the hardware-clock write was silently failing; fixed.
  • Subtler effects, every device: Line and Grid gain 50% and 25% opacity variants, at no extra cost.
  • Optimize CPU: Revert keeps your 90-minute measurement (RE-ENABLE restores it), and one card holds a calibration per device.
  • Hide Recently Played: empty no-recents.txt at the card root.

MinUI Zero v1.7.2

@danklammer danklammer released this 31 Aug 16:31

A WiFi tool, a findable exit for Files, and the Miyoo Mini's wifi restored for good.

  • WiFi Toggle: with a wifi.txt on the card, a Tools entry shows the live connection and flips the radio; cards without one never see it.
  • Files exit: MENU now quits the file manager from anywhere.
  • Miyoo wifi restored and permanent: the driver ships inside Zero now, so a clean update can't delete networking.
  • Details: the Miyoo updater now says "MinUI Zero", and the Brick panel was measured at 60.235 Hz.

@danklammer danklammer released this 31 Aug 03:56

Three fixes to how games feel, root-caused on-device. Every device benefits.

  • No more choppiness while the governor settles: it now reads the chip's real frequency ladder and commands only real clocks (also a battery win).
  • No more crackle after closing the in-game menu: audio re-primes like a fresh launch.
  • PS1 judder fixed: corrected frame catch-up and prefill; Brick Pro audio matched to its true 60.180 Hz.

MinUI Zero v1.7.0

@danklammer danklammer released this 31 Aug 01:07

New device: the TrimUI Brick Pro. The same trimui zip serves three TrimUI devices, detecting which it woke on.

  • A UI drawn for its glass: a new 2.5x scale with its own sprite sheet and spacing.
  • F1 and F2 are real buttons: bind them to any shortcut in the in-game Shortcuts menu.
  • Everything the Brick had: governor, deep sleep, per-chip undervolt, radios/LEDs off, all fifteen systems.

Verified on hardware: 26/26 checks, 34–36C, zero idle wakeups. Copy MinUI.zip to the card root to update. Anbernic: flash the image.

MinUI Zero v1.6.0

@danklammer danklammer released this 14 Aug 18:59

New platform: the Anbernic RG35XX Plus and RG35XX H. There, MinUI Zero is the whole OS, not a launcher on top.

  • Full MinUI on Anbernic: boot-to-game, closed-loop governor, deep sleep (with opt-out), analog sticks on the H, 15 systems, Tools, wifi/ssh off until you ask.
  • Measured on the Plus: 10.1h of Game Boy Color, ~1%/h suspended, 36C, PS1 at 60fps well under the clock ceiling.
  • TrimUI/Miyoo: a rebuild with the shared transition and pacing changes; no new features.

Anbernic is alpha and updates by reflash (copy saves off first). Copy MinUI.zip to the card root to update TrimUI/Miyoo; Anbernic: flash the image, which erases the card.

MinUI Zero v1.5.5

@danklammer danklammer released this 04 Aug 21:59

One card, the whole Miyoo Mini family (Mini, Plus, Flip): each boots from its own folder and the firmware detects the device at runtime.

  • Per-model status: the Plus is verified; the Mini and Flip are code-complete and audited against other CFWs but untested on hardware.
  • Installer hardening (both platforms): tg5040 refuses a zip built for another device, payloads stage and promote atomically, and the stock entry point is never deleted until a complete payload is committed.

Copy MinUI.zip to the card root to update.

MinUI Zero v1.5.4

@danklammer danklammer released this 02 Aug 02:01

Miyoo Mini Plus: frame pacing rebuilt.

  • 59.6720 Hz panel: the true refresh, not 60. Presentation waits for the panel instead of discarding the surplus frame, and tracks page ownership so the blitter can't tear a frame being scanned out. NES and PS1: 0 dropped frames, 0 underruns.
  • Battery indicator (both platforms): repaints on level change, and absent data no longer reads as a dying cell.

MMP remains alpha; heavy PS1 scenes aren't re-characterised under the new path. Copy MinUI.zip to the card root to update.
