TrayTidy v0.2.1-beta

This prerelease fixes a crash that could occur when force-closing a privileged Windows background process.

Fixes

  • Correctly handles access-denied errors wrapped by Windows process-tree termination.
  • Continues into the existing administrator-permission flow instead of treating the error as a fatal WPF interface exception.
  • Keeps TrayTidy open and reports an operation-level failure if a termination provider returns another unexpected exception.
  • Adds regression tests for the observed failure and related fallback behavior.

The recommendation engine, protection rules, and explicit confirmation required for force termination are unchanged.

Install

Download TrayTidy-v0.2.1-beta-win-x64.zip, extract the entire archive, and run TrayTidy.exe. The package is self-contained and does not require a separate .NET installation.

The SHA-256 checksum is provided in TrayTidy-v0.2.1-beta-win-x64.sha256.txt.
