Privacy Policy
Last Updated: Jul 30, 2026
Thank you for choosing Aether | 扶摇. Your privacy is at the core of our design philosophy. This Privacy Policy explains how Aether Developers ("we," "us," or "our") handles your data.
Aether is built with a local-first architecture. We believe your thoughts and conversations are yours alone.
- No Message Content Collection: We do not, and will never, collect, store, or upload the specific content of your messages, prompts, or AI responses.
- Processing: All AI interactions occur either locally on your device or directly between your device and your chosen service providers via your own API keys.
To improve the user experience and optimize app performance, we collect certain anonymous analytical data. This information cannot be used to identify you personally. The data we collect includes:
- Usage Statistics: Total number of messages sent and general interaction patterns.
- Model Metadata: The names of the AI providers and models used (e.g., "OpenAI", "GPT-5.6").
- Technical Data: Device type, operating system version, and anonymized crash reports.
- Performance Metrics: App launch speed and response latency to help us squash bugs.
We use PostHog to process the anonymous analytical data mentioned above. PostHog helps us understand how users navigate the app so we can make the interface more intuitive.
- The data sent to PostHog is stripped of any personally identifiable information (PII).
- You can stop participating in telemetry at any time by opting out or contacting us as outlined below.
You have the right to opt-out of data collection or request the deletion of data associated with your usage.
- How to Request: You can submit an opt-out or data deletion request by emailing us at [baimoqilin@gmail.com].
- Response Time: We will review and respond to your request within 30 days.
- Anonymization Limitation: Please note that because all collected analytics data is strictly anonymized and devoid of any personally identifiable information (PII) or user identifiers, we may be unable to locate, isolate, or delete specific telemetry entries associated with your individual device or usage.
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect the limited anonymous data we collect. Since we do not store your message history or personal credentials on our servers, the risk to your personal privacy is minimized by design.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
If you have any questions, suggestions, or data deletion requests regarding this Privacy Policy, please feel free to reach out to us.
