Your project is on StackMap — a curated map of the AI stack #2216

Description

@hoghweed

Hi — I curate StackMap, a hand-curated knowledge graph of open-source AI/agent tools. Every entry is human-reviewed: a summary, an opinionated note on when to use it (and when not), and typed edges to what it pairs with or competes against — with the why written down.

unstract earned a place on the map:

How we mapped it:

  • alternative to chunkr — Both are self-hostable document-intelligence services, split by output: Chunkr produces layout-aware RAG-ready chunks; Unstract produces schema-shaped structured fields via prompt-defined extraction, deployable as APIs and ETL.
  • alternative to mineru — Parser vs platform: MinerU converts documents to LLM-ready markdown/JSON; Unstract sits a level up — prompt-engineered field extraction with deployment, connectors and pipeline management around it. Many stacks front Unstract-style extraction with a MinerU-style parser.

If any of this misrepresents the project — an edge you'd dispute, a sharper "when NOT to use" — reply here and a human fixes it. And feel free to just close this issue; it's only a heads-up.
