v0.1.1

@Zoft123 Zoft123 released this 17 Oct 16:29

Encryption now follows the disc / PSN title ID in the file's path.

Title IDs USRDIR/mgs (MGS4) USRDIR/o (MGO2)
BLUS30109, BLES00246, BLJM67001/2/3, BLJM57001, BLUS30148, BLAS55004/5, BLKS25002 plain encrypted
NPUB31633, NPEB02182, NPJB00698 (PSN releases) encrypted encrypted
BLJM60082 (standalone MGO disc) — encrypted
  • Files are decrypted on decompile and re-encrypted on compile with their stage/<name> key; plain areas are never touched.
  • The compile destination is checked too: writing into USRDIR/o always encrypts, writing into a Blu-ray USRDIR/mgs folder never does.
  • Paths without a known title ID keep the previous automatic detection.

v0.1.0

@Zoft123 Zoft123 released this 17 Oct 04:52

First release of GCL — decompile, edit and compile the scenerio.gcx scripts of Metal Gear Solid 4, Metal Gear Online 2 and Metal Gear Arcade in VS Code.

Install

Install from the Visual Studio Marketplace (search Metal Gear GCL, or ext install zoft123.metal-gear-gcl), or download metal-gear-gcl-0.1.0.vsix below and use Extensions view → … → Install from VSIX….

What's in it

  • Byte-exact round trip: an unedited project compiles back to the original .gcx byte for byte; edited projects get every size, offset and table rebuilt. MGO2 stage files are decrypted and re-encrypted automatically.
  • Live diagnostics from the compiler — a file with no errors compiles — plus checks for undefined procs, missing resources, strings over 254 bytes, names that hash to something else (e.g. NewSky vs [ce2d24/NewSky], with a quick fix) and typos in new option / command names.
  • Autocomplete for @proc / p:proc, options per command, commands and commands.txt handlers, $res: resources, variables, and if / switch snippets.
  • Hovers, go to definition, find references and a proc outline; syntax highlighting for scripts and resource files.
  • Bundled dictionary.txt and commands.txt name lists (your own copies take priority).
  • bin/gcx.js command-line tool with the same engine (Node.js 18+): node bin/gcx.js scenerio.gcx, compile, verify.

See the README for the text format, settings and details.
