PowerEdit 1.0.6 - Release Notes - 1.0.5 Relaunch to 1.0.6
Reason: Bug fix: Installed dependencies with api.require() don't verifiy if the dependencies are installed when start..
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a critical issue that prevented external Python modules from being used in extensions.
- PowerEdit now automatically checks extension dependencies on startup.
- If a required module is not installed, it will be automatically installed using the embedded Python environment.
Added
- Introduced a new function in the
EditorAPIthat allows extensions to request external Python modules.
Example usage:
def setup(api):
api.require("requests", auto_install=True)-
This feature allows extensions to install and import external modules into PowerEdit's embedded Python environment automatically. This call should be placed inside the setup(api): method of your extension.
