AER 6.1.0 — final planned maintenance release

AER 6.1.0 refines the existing 13 standalone skills and corrects the optional diagnostics. It removes compulsory review ledgers and universal test ordering, scopes architecture/type/performance advice to actual decisions, corrects migration/default/retry claims, and keeps portable guidance separate from client-enforced controls.

Diagnostics now distinguish unavailable Git baselines from confirmed absence, reject unsafe numeric overrides and unsupported out-of-sRGB OKLCH, label lexical HTML leads without claiming proven unsafety, and allow clean focused scans to exit successfully. Text labels, HTML fingerprints and focused-scan semantics intentionally change as documented in the changelog.

Install or upgrade with Node 24.11.1 or newer:

The exact released 6.0.1 ownership inventory is retained. A real 6.0.1 upgrade and uninstall preserve custom selections, consumer text and native controls. Modified-file refusal, foreign-file preservation, interruption recovery and the pinned v5 exit remain covered. No new client, permission, automatic hook, provider runner or installer redesign is introduced.

This is the final planned maintenance release. The maintainer intends to archive the public repository after release verification, preserving source and historical evidence. No ongoing maintenance or support is promised. Archiving remains a separate maintainer action.

The release makes no model-efficacy, cost-saving, certification or OpenAI-endorsement claim. No live model trials were run. Model and harness changes do not establish a universal conclusion about the usefulness of this guidance.

Verification: 42 product tests, 77 immutable legacy tests, resource/schema/link validation, final packed lifecycle, 140 routing cases, 39 behavior cases, 18 calibrated checks and 54 load scenarios. Required Linux/Windows runtime checks (Node 24.11.1 and current 24), research validation and CodeQL passed before the normal protected squash merge and again on the exact signed release commit.

npm publication is verified: latest resolves to 6.1.0, and a fresh public-registry download is byte-identical to the tested and attached tarball. The separate publication receipt records registry integrity and inventory.

Optional working-principles example

The maintainer's portable AGENTS.md example is attached separately as AGENTS.example.md. It contains general working preferences, not active root instructions or installed AER rules. This documentation was added after the immutable v6.1.0 tag and is not included in the 6.1.0 npm tarball. The tagged source, package, checksum and original verification receipt remain unchanged. See the additive documentation in PR #16.
