MeshDrop v1.0.0-beta.1 — Initial Public Beta

MeshDrop is a fully decentralized, open-source, peer-to-peer (P2P) file sharing application built with Pear Runtime (Bare JS), Hyperswarm, Hypercore, Noise Protocol, and Electron. It allows you to stream files and folders directly between devices over local LAN or across the Internet without relying on cloud storage or third-party servers.

⚡ Lightning Fast P2P Transfers: Stream files of any size directly between peers with real-time transfer progress, peak speed monitoring, and ETA calculation.
🔑 Short Code Pairing: Easily pair devices using 8-character short codes (e.g. MD-3D25-5BCB) or QR codes.
🌐 LAN & Internet Auto-Discovery: Automatic device discovery over local networks or across the Internet via Hyperswarm DHT holepunching.
🔒 End-to-End Encrypted: All connections are secured with Ed25519 public key authentication and Noise Protocol Noise-XX cryptographic handshakes.
📋 Cross-Device Clipboard Sync: Real-time encrypted text and clipboard snippet sharing between your paired devices.
🖥️ Standalone Windows Bundle: Pre-packaged portable executable bundle — zero dependencies or Node.js installation required for users.
This is a very early public beta. Expect rough edges, occasional connection retries, and active UI improvements.
MeshVault Drive (Work In Progress): Virtual WebDAV drive mounting (Z:) is currently an experimental feature under active development and has been hidden from default navigation for this beta release.
📦 How to Install & Run (Windows)
Download MeshDrop-v1.0.0-win32-x64.zip (174 MB) from the assets section below.
Extract the contents of the .zip file to any folder on your computer.
Double-click MeshDrop.exe to launch the app!
