SCWID v2.5.2
SCWID 2.5.2 - Synchronization and independent variations
- Downloaded Season progress preferences, goals and action states no longer create redundant uploads that can leave Synchronization needs attention showing after a successful cycle.
- Online-only Season details load their required records before displaying staffing. Downloading a Season preserves auxiliary settings while continuing to protect pending edits and unconfirmed local changes.
- Development and test packages use separate identities and explicit isolated profiles. Their database, backup and file-selection paths cannot reuse an installed release profile.
- Existing 2.5.1 linked-workout synchronization and expired-trash conflict recovery fixes remain in place.
- Workout variations show their own authored rows without obsolete omission controls. Import preserves explicit branch identity and existing content.
- When supported by the club server, affected independent-variation workouts require an updated client for editing; older-client writes cannot overwrite their structure.
The server rollout remains separate. Installing this update does not activate linked synchronization while the server capability is disabled.
The installers and GitHub update metadata are unsigned, so operating-system trust warnings may appear. Back up a compatible profile before upgrading; restore that backup before opening it with an older binary.
SCWID v2.5.1
SCWID 2.5.1 - synchronization reliability fixes
- Linked Variable Sets synchronize as a complete workout change when the club server advertises support. Linked names, swimmer assignments and subgroups stay together, including when another computer reconnects after a Set is detached.
- Moving online-only workouts into folders first loads every selected workout. If a workout cannot be loaded, the action preserves the selection and stops before changing folder memberships.
- Duplicate cleanup of an already-expired deleted workout no longer leaves redundant synchronization conflict alerts when both copies prove the same deleted outcome. Restored workouts, pending edits and substantive differences remain protected for review.
- Red Pen participant displays now follow surname-first alphabetical order while keeping saved workout participation and assignments intact.
- Existing 2.5.0 coaching workspaces and 2.4.1 reliability fixes remain in place.
The server rollout is separate. Installing this update does not activate linked synchronization while the server capability is disabled.
The installers and GitHub update metadata are unsigned, so operating-system trust warnings may appear. Back up a compatible profile before upgrading; restore that backup before opening it with an older binary.
SCWID v2.5.0
SCWID 2.5.0
SCWID 2.5.0 brings current Desktop work into the 2.5 series:
- Meet workspaces show saved receipts, swimmer and event summaries, scoped export selection, and a print preview before export.
- Stopwatch workbooks keep local sheets and charts and can use a separate server copy. Stopwatch history stays in the workspace.
- Workout Builder retains its Multi-View comparison, Saved Set, Red Pen, selection, editing, and print workflows.
- The 2.4.1 fixes remain in place: drafts survive view changes; Save and Save and Finish have distinct results; Type names appear once and their menus stay inside the window; Variation print columns survive; owner-grant delay does not hide a new workout; server-only workouts hydrate before archived result reads; denied sync changes do not block other uploads; and content scroll stays inside the page.
Linked Variable Set grouping can be used within one workout. Cross-device linkage remains disabled pending the separate server rollout.
The installers and GitHub update metadata are unsigned. Operating-system trust warnings may appear. Back up a compatible profile before upgrading: an older binary alone is not a safe rollback for a migrated local database.
SCWID v2.4.1
SCWID 2.4.1
This Desktop hotfix builds on 2.4.0:
- Comparison View keeps an unfinished workout plan when opened or closed.
- Save at the top keeps the Workout Builder open. Save and Finish at the bottom opens the saved summary.
- Repeated save clicks while a request is in progress do not start duplicate saves.
- The Set and row Type pickers show each name once. Existing type identities and saved workout references stay intact.
- Type menus fit within the window and assign a type only when a choice is made; dismissing or scrolling away leaves the row unchanged.
- Variation Swimmers print tables include saved B and C columns alongside A.
- Opening a server-only workout waits for its local copy to load before checking archived results, avoiding a temporary account-access error.
- A newly saved local workout remains available to its creating account while the server owner grant is still arriving.
- Web-created workout folders accept their existing timestamp format, and Summary keeps a local workout readable while child edits are still queued.
- Compact round changes appear beside their source rows in Summary and print views.
- The page content scrolls within a bounded pane while the navigation header stays visible.
- A denied queued change remains visible without blocking other authorized synchronization; startup no longer changes a potentially foreign-owned trash receipt before ownership is known.
- Update readiness recognizes a clean main menu while still blocking visible dialogs, unsaved work and active operations.
This update keeps historical Type IDs and saved workout references intact. It does not merge or remove coaching records.
The installers and GitHub update metadata remain unsigned. Operating-system trust warnings may appear. Keep a compatible profile backup when upgrading; an older binary alone is not a safe database rollback.
SCWID v2.4.0
SCWID 2.4.0
This Desktop update builds on the published 2.3.2 release:
- Shared workout and Saved Set structures remain native across supported clients.
- Variable Sets print one Variation Swimmers table per Set across customized rounds, with their distinct variation columns and assignments.
- Missing distance and Quality results remain blank rather than becoming recorded zeroes.
- Practice Distance History groups workouts from the same day while keeping course totals separate. A missing Red Pen result remains missing rather than becoming actual yards.
- Duplicated Variable Set rows receive independent round lineage, and local server-backed records respect the signed-in account's ownership and active access.
- Season Dashboard includes authorized online-only practices and their attendance, progress and balance without requiring full workout downloads. An already-joined Season opens its Dashboard on the first click.
- Workout print controls place Round Layout and Pace Base first, with enough room to read the complete Round Layout choice.
- Demo Dolphins is no longer fetched into every signed-in account during synchronization. Existing user records and deliberately available demonstration content are preserved.
- Snapshot synchronization validates complete captured pools and supports the coordinated server payload limits. Missing or corrupt captures fail closed with guidance rather than silently substituting different history.
- The retired generic JSON exchange is removed. Supported Roster CSV/XLSX and document intake remain available.
- Privileged application commands require an approved application window, its top frame, and its trusted renderer document. Preload-bearing windows block external navigation, redirects, unsolicited windows and embedded webviews. The separate PDF preview retains its printing path without receiving the application bridge.
Use the compatible Ink Sac server candidate for coordinated shared behavior. Web and server rollout are separate from the Desktop release. The proposed Schoal and Stopwatch workspaces are not included.
Keep a current profile backup before upgrading. An older installer is a binary rollback point only when accompanied by a profile backup compatible with its database schema; do not open a newer migrated profile using an older binary. Installers and update metadata continue to use the existing unsigned GitHub bootstrap channel. Operating-system trust warnings may appear; this update does not establish certificate signing or a TUF-verified release channel.
SCWID v2.3.2
SCWID 2.3.2
This hotfix repairs three regressions in the Desktop workout workflow:
- Workout lists scroll without snapping back to the top. The selected-workout toolbar wraps its controls instead of scrolling sideways.
- Red Pen Edit Results opens for an ordinary Variable Set, including the 9/28 and 9/30 style of swim rows that are not marked Test. The B/C/I creation control is available inside Edit Results.
- Workout Notes tables keep the active cell while typing, even when a delayed saved-content update reaches the editor.
- Red Pen offers a compact Make Graphable toggle beneath row actions for Test and Variable Set rows. It updates the annotated result row without changing the written workout.
The previously published 2.3.1 functionality remains in this update. Season Dashboard development is not included. The Red Pen Portal receives the same Make Graphable toggle through a separate Portal-only deployment; full SCWID Web remains unpublished. Keep a current profile backup before upgrading. The 2.3.1 installer is a binary rollback point only with a profile backup compatible with its database schema; do not open a newer migrated profile with an older binary. Installers and update metadata use the existing unsigned GitHub bootstrap channel.
SCWID v2.3.1
SCWID 2.3.1
SCWID 2.3.1 is a coaching hotfix after 2.3.0. It improves Red Pen result entry, workout presentation, list organization, profile residency, and editor reliability.
- Red Pen Edit Results can create a B/C/I chart for an ordinary Variable Set, without marking its swim rows as Test rows. Unchanged row edits no longer leave a false mark. Attendance clearing and actual group review are easier to use.
- Variation and Station headings follow the coach's written name, then the linked Group name, then the letter fallback. The heading sits above the work in print layouts. Repeated Multi-Interval lists use parentheses around the inner sequence, and Workout Print preview stays beside its controls.
- Workout folders open as locations in the list, while ordering and selection controls remain stable. Active swimmer profiles follow roster access automatically; inactive profiles can remain server-only.
- Workout note editing, recoveries, and copyable errors have focused reliability fixes. Server-only workouts still require an explicit Download for an offline copy.
The standalone Red Pen Portal and production Ink Sac API are deployed separately from the Desktop installer. Full SCWID Web remains unpublished. A coach who can enter results but cannot edit the workout plan can fill an existing B/C/I table but cannot create a new one. Edit Document remains Beta; printing may use Save PDF or a system viewer on Linux/Chromebook when direct printing is unavailable.
The 2.3.1 Desktop candidate must pass native package and device acceptance before publication. Keep a current profile backup before upgrading. A 2.3.0 installer is the binary rollback point only with a profile backup compatible with its database schema; do not open a newer migrated profile with an older binary. The GitHub bootstrap update channel uses unsigned installers and update metadata. Published hashes and updater SHA-512 metadata check transfer integrity but are not platform code signing or a TUF trust root.
SCWID v2.3.0
SCWID 2.3.0
SCWID 2.3.0 expands Season staffing and workout planning. The compatible Ink Sac schema-29 server and standalone Red Pen and Pace Clock portals were activated before this desktop release.
- Head Coaches can assign Season dashboard staff separately from each roster's Lead, Assistant, or No Access role. Assistants can see eligible practices, record results, and comment, but cannot structurally edit a workout or use Red Pen row editing. An explicit share can still grant the access allowed by its permission and the recipient's effective role.
- Newly created workouts default to Assistants-only visibility. Previously Private workouts remain Private. Coaches outside the relevant Season/roster assignment do not gain access from the new default.
- Variable Sets support independent variation rows and editable rounds. Changed round rows affect planned distance, timing, summary, print, results, and Pace Clock interpretation; older omitted variation rows remain absent from their branch rather than deleting other rows.
- Special Interval supports repeated interval lists and descending send-offs. Workout print settings can be saved as one personal Custom Preset, separate from a workout's Custom Layout.
- Server-only practices remain lightweight online listings and are not downloaded automatically. Download is the explicit path to an offline copy. Synchronization retains conflict review rather than silently replacing offline edits.
- Linux and Chromebook report preview uses app-owned PDF pages. If that Linux environment lacks a printer or PDF handler, Save PDF/ChromeOS Files remains the supported fallback; a direct native print dialog is not promised.
The Desktop profile includes migrations through schema 104. Back up the profile before upgrade; a profile opened by 2.3.0 should not be reopened by the older 2.2.2 binary without restoring a compatible pre-upgrade backup. The server has the separately verified schema-29 Assistant and round-compatibility behavior.
Edit Document remains a Beta feature. Image/PDF blank-results-table extraction remains in design and is not represented as a completed release feature. The standalone Red Pen and Pace Clock portals are deployed; the full SCWID Web app remains unpublished. Installing Desktop 2.3.0 does not publish it.
This release uses SCWID's established GitHub bootstrap update channel. Installers and update metadata are unsigned; GitHub and updater hashes provide transfer-integrity checks, not platform publisher identity. Windows and Linux packages were built and verified locally because GitHub Actions runners were blocked by the account's Actions budget. No macOS 2.3.0 package is available; macOS users should remain on 2.2.2. Linux .deb uses a manual or system-package installation path. Preserve the 2.2.2 installer and a pre-upgrade compatible profile backup for recovery. Physical Chromebook, phone, and large-display acceptance is still pending.
SCWID v2.2.2
SCWID 2.2.2
SCWID 2.2.2 is a focused hotfix for online server practices, Red Pen Unstrike, workout comments, dark-mode editing, printing, and Linux updates.
- Authorized server-only practices can open in Workout Summary and Edit Practice while connected. The complete authorized graph is used for the active working session, while Download remains the explicit choice for keeping an offline copy.
- Online edits retain the existing durable synchronization and conflict protections. SCWID does not discard an unacknowledged change when leaving the practice.
- Background synchronization refreshes the Workout List in place without collapsing the populated page or moving the coach back toward the top.
- Red Pen can Unstrike a row after Strike, Save, and reopen. The request uses the current server annotation revision and the canonical null replacement for an unchanged written row.
- Workout comments are limited to individual rows. The broader Shared comments panel is removed.
- Comment on row, its composer, and saved comment discussions are excluded from every workout, annotated workout, results, and report print mode.
- Edit Workout rows, including inline-note rows, variation states, and Station assignment actions remain readable in dark mode instead of placing light text on a fixed pale background.
- Workout Summary titles and supporting labels use the active theme colors so they remain readable against the dark-mode background.
- Selected Workout, Roster, Profile, Season, and record-scope tabs remain readable against their dark-mode surfaces.
- Practice finish and Set-length totals now include Rest-interval rows by estimating their swim portion from the practice's non-Rest average pace and adding the authored rest. The estimate remains hidden and does not alter the displayed Rest interval.
- Linux and Chromebook AppImage updates use a verified external installer handoff that replaces the installed application after shutdown and relaunches the new version.
This hotfix adds no new Desktop database migration. Existing 2.2.0 and 2.2.1 profiles remain compatible with 2.2.2. Public 2.2.1 is the supervised rollback installer; preserve a current profile backup before repair or rollback when unsent work exists.
This release uses SCWID's established GitHub bootstrap update channel. Installers and update metadata are unsigned while the independently signed TUF channel is still being provisioned. GitHub and updater hashes protect transfer integrity but do not provide platform publisher identity. macOS and Linux .deb updates use their manual or system-package installation paths.
SCWID v2.2.1
SCWID 2.2.1
SCWID 2.2.1 is a focused reliability hotfix for synchronization, server-only practice handling, Red Pen persistence, Linux shutdown, and updater presentation.
- Authorized server practices remain lightweight cloud listings until a coach explicitly chooses Download. SCWID does not silently materialize incomplete local workout graphs.
- Downloaded and locally edited practices retain the complete remote baseline needed for normal cross-device synchronization and conflict review.
- Red Pen Strike and Unstrike use the latest saved annotation instead of submitting a stale revision.
- Timed Broken split definitions persist independently of the optional standard results-table toggle, and their results remain editable in Red Pen after reopening.
- Workout List print actions appear only while their row is hovered or keyboard-focused and no longer cover completion/status information.
- Linux and Chromebook shutdown verifies that an accepted close fully exits the exact application instance, reducing stale background processes and duplicate launches.
- The temporary Update available label clears when downloading begins, so it no longer sits behind the progress control.
The companion Pace Clock portal has also been updated live with an optional Display time of day setting. That portal change is server-hosted and is not embedded in the Desktop installers.
This hotfix adds no new Desktop database migration. Existing 2.2.0 profiles remain compatible with 2.2.1. Preserve a current profile backup before any supervised repair or downgrade; profiles already migrated by 2.2.0 must not be opened with an incompatible older release when they contain newer or unsent work.
This release uses SCWID's established GitHub bootstrap update channel. Installers and update metadata are unsigned while the independently signed TUF channel is still being provisioned. Keep the installer for supervised repair if needed. macOS and Linux .deb updates use their manual or system-package installation paths.
