v2.0.0 — Smart Recommendations
Smart Recommendations Engine
WooBooster 2.0 introduces 4 intelligent recommendation strategies — all without creating any new database tables.
New Action Sources
| Source | Description | Storage |
|---|---|---|
| Bought Together | Products frequently purchased together, based on order history analysis | Product postmeta |
| Trending | Bestselling products per category, based on recent sales velocity | WordPress transients |
| Recently Viewed | Products the visitor recently browsed | Browser cookie |
| Similar Products | Same category + similar price range, ordered by total sales | WordPress transients |

How It Works
Smart strategies are available as new Action Sources in your rules. Combine them with traditional taxonomy-based actions — e.g., show 3 "Bought Together" + 3 from a category.
- Bought Together: Nightly WP-Cron scans completed orders, computes co-purchase scores, stores top N related IDs in
_woobooster_copurchasedpostmeta - Trending: Every 6 hours, aggregates sales data per category into ranked transients
- Recently Viewed: Cookie-based, zero DB overhead
- Similar: Real-time WP_Query with ±25% price range + same category + order by sales, cached for 24h
Zero New Tables
All data uses native WordPress storage: wp_postmeta, wp_options (transients), browser cookies. Clean uninstall removes everything.
