ScanTailor Spectre 2.0b2
Version 2.0b2 | macOS (Apple Silicon) | Requires macOS 15 or later
Version 2.0b2
- PDF import now accepts PDFs with junk bytes (such as a UTF-8 BOM) before the
%PDFheader, matching Preview's behavior. PDFs exported by Zotero/Papers were being rejected outright with a generic "Failed to read PDF file." —checkMagicrequired%PDF-at byte 0; it now searches the first 1024 bytes. A PDF that CoreGraphics briefly refuses to open because Zotero is still staging the file is now retried for up to a second instead of being treated as malformed. - Failed PDF imports now say why: a Qt file-open/read error (with the system errno), a missing
%PDFheader, a CoreGraphics rejection, or a zero-page document each report their actual cause instead of one generic failure message. - Fixed a bug where using Convert to Black and White / Grayscale / Color — the new right-click thumbnail menu in the Finalize and Output stages — on a page discarded that page's existing black-and-white threshold, color options, and photo adjustments instead of only changing its color mode. The
c/g/bkeyboard shortcuts had the same problem and are fixed the same way. - Right-clicking thumbnails in the Finalize and Output stages offers Convert to Black and White, Convert to Grayscale, and Convert to Color, applied to all selected pages, matching the
c/g/bshortcuts (the Finalize stage's mode display now stays in sync with both).
