RecordMe v1.0.7 brings the recording editor and the full editing feature set into the downloadable Mac app.

What's new

  • Trim the beginning and end of a recording, then save a separate MP4 while keeping the original.
  • Add background presets, padding, rounded corners, shadows, and landscape, square, or portrait layouts.
  • Choose the camera overlay's position, size, and shape before recording.
  • Choose export resolution, frame rate, and quality.
  • Capture clicks and add click highlights and automatic zoom in the editor.
  • Save portable .recordme projects containing the source video and editing settings, then reopen them to keep editing.
  • Updated source picker and recording controls, elapsed recording timer, and Command-R to start or stop.
  • Improved recording finalization, cancellation, and filename collision handling.

Download and install

Download RecordMe.dmg, open it, and drag RecordMe.app to Applications. Requires macOS 15.1 or later.

This is an unsigned, unnotarized community build. macOS may block the first launch. Follow the installation help on the RecordMe website, and grant screen recording, microphone, and camera permissions for the features you use.

Notes

  • Camera layout is applied during recording; it cannot be repositioned afterward as a separate camera track.
  • Click effects require click data captured by RecordMe.
  • Projects are saved explicitly with Save Project; edits are not autosaved.
  • Recording and editing stay local. The native app has no account requirement, telemetry, or uploads.

Verification

The integrated source passed a release build, all 18 existing unit tests, MP4 export checks, camera layout rendering checks, and project save/reopen/export checks. Live screen, microphone, and camera capture were not rechecked for this release.
