What's new in 1.4.2

• The zoomed waveform stays where you put it. It no longer jumps after the playhead while a sound plays. Only the mouse wheel, the scrollbar and the zoom badge move it.
• More room for the waveform. The details panel beside it is hidden, so the waveform uses the full width. Bring the panel back with View → Details Panel (Ctrl+I) when you need the metadata, your tags or the drag and export buttons.
• The settings button now sits at the far end of the top bar.

What's new in 1.4.1

Zoom the waveform with the mouse wheel. With the pointer over the player's waveform, scroll up to zoom in and down to zoom out. The spot under the pointer stays put, so you can dive straight into a transient or a click.

• Shift + wheel (or a sideways swipe on a touchpad) scrolls the zoomed waveform.
• A scrollbar appears under the waveform while zoomed in. Drag it, or click anywhere on it to jump there.
• The zoom badge next to the duration (for example 🔍 55×) shows how far you are zoomed; click it to see the whole sound again.
• The waveform gets sharper as you zoom, down to individual samples.
• While playing, the view follows the playhead page by page.
• Selecting a region and clicking to play work at any zoom level.

Also: the time ruler now shows the right decimals at every zoom level.

Soundcer 1.4.0

What's new in 1.4.0

Automatic updates. Soundcer now tells you when a new version is out. Click Update and it downloads the new version, installs it and restarts, usually downloading only the parts that changed. You can also check any time from Help → Check for Updates, or turn automatic checks off in Preferences.

Installer. Soundcer now comes as Soundcer-Setup.exe. It installs for your account in seconds, with no administrator rights, and adds Start menu and desktop shortcuts. Uninstall it from Windows Settings → Apps like any other app.

Privacy. The update check only asks GitHub whether a newer version exists. Nothing about you or your library is sent, and everything else still works fully offline.

Coming from 1.3 or earlier (the zip)? Install this version once. Your library, favorites, collections and settings are kept, and you can delete the old Soundcer folder afterwards. From now on, updates arrive inside the app.

Install

Download Soundcer-win-x64.zip, extract it anywhere and run Soundcer.exe.
To update, close Soundcer and replace the old folder with the new one. Your library, favorites, collections and settings are stored separately, so they are kept.
