KIN v0.1.1 — Production Multi-Agent Workforce Release

🚀 Overview

KIN v0.1.1 is the production-ready release of the local-first multi-agent autonomous workforce platform. This release delivers complete end-to-end verification of the 18-layer AI agent harness, 100% deterministic test pass rates across Windows, macOS, and Linux, autonomous ephemeral tool lifecycles, and one-click installers.

🌟 Key Highlights & Enhancements

1. 18-Layer Autonomous Agent Harness

  • Full-Spectrum Verification: Rigorously validated across all 18 core architectural subsystems, including Agent Spawning & Role Specialization, Peer-to-Peer Communication, Approval Escalation Gates (CAS-guarded), and Cryptographic Audit Ledgers.
  • Deterministic Quality Gates: 52 test suites comprising 738 automated unit, integration, and adversarial tests passing with 0 failures and 0 skipped tests.

2. 7-Tier Scoped Memory Fabric with Optimistic Concurrency Control

  • Rigorous Boundary Isolation: Scopes include global, workspace, project, team, channel, agent_private, and task.
  • Identity-Guarded Privacy: agent_private memory strictly rejects unauthorized cross-agent access.
  • OCC Version Fencing: Concurrent memory mutations are guarded by atomic version counters; stale writes return HTTP 409 Conflict with { code: 'OCC_CONFLICT' }.
  • Version History: All memory mutations archive prior versions in the memory_versions table for complete auditability.

3. Ephemeral Skills & Disposable Tools

  • Autonomous Tool Creation: Agents dynamically construct custom disposable tools at runtime via create_skill (skillType: 'tool_extension').
  • Sandboxed Execution: Tools run in isolated Node.js ESM worker threads with frozen prototypes (Object.freeze(Object.prototype)), timeout enforcement, and TypeScript transpile support.
  • Safe Autonomous Disposal: Agents can cleanly dismantle ephemeral tools via dispose_tool and delete_skill (with prefix normalization) without tripping operator destruction blocks.
  • Slash Command Integration: Operators can manage active skills in chat with /skills list, /skills create, and /skills delete <idOrName>.

4. Cross-Platform Reliability & CI Hardening

  • Universal CI Validation: Clean builds and test runs on windows-latest, macos-latest, and ubuntu-latest.
  • Desktop Controller Cross-Platform Safety: Coordinates are validated before platform checks, preventing platform mismatches on non-Windows hosts.
  • Security Path Hardening: Enhanced sensitive path jailing prevents symlink leakage of .env files.

5. Packaging & Distribution

  • One-Click Installation:
    • Windows: Run install.bat for automated environment verification, dependency resolution, build, desktop shortcut generation, and startup.
    • macOS / Linux: Run ./install.sh.
  • Standalone Portable Bundle: Pre-packaged single-executable sidecar kin-core.exe (95 MB) with zero Node.js runtime prerequisites required for execution.

📦 Release Assets

  • KIN-v0.1.1-windows-x64.zip: Standalone portable bundle for Windows (includes kin-core.exe, schema.sql, install.bat, start.bat, and README.md).
  • Source code (tar.gz and zip).

🧪 Verification & Audit Stats

  • Test Suites: 52 passed (100%)
  • Tests: 738 passed (100%)
  • Platforms Verified: Windows 11, Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, macOS 14/15
  • SQLite Engine: WAL mode with synchronous PRAGMAs, foreign key enforcement, and concurrent multi-worker resilience.

KIN v0.1.0 — Windows build artifacts

@abhayzangir1 abhayzangir1 released this 05 Oct 02:39

Windows build artifacts are attached to the v0.1.0 tag. The tag points to commit eeb54d1; the current main branch has advanced since then. Release metadata does not record the exact source revision used to build each asset.

A clean-machine installation and portable standalone execution have not been verified. Do not assume KIN.exe includes every required runtime dependency. See the repository README for source setup and current limitations.
