macOS upgrade note

v0.3.0 keeps the existing Keychain service, account names, and credential encoding. Existing Trello API keys and tokens are not deleted and do not need to be entered again.

Older entries written by go-keyring may need a one-time ACL migration after upgrading:

trello-cli auth migrate-keychain
trello-cli auth migrate-keychain --account NAME

Run the second command once for each named account. macOS may show a system authorization prompt. The migration changes only the item's access policy; it does not read or rewrite the credential value.

macOS installation

The old unsigned Homebrew Cask and its quarantine-removal hook are retired. macOS now builds locally from the checksummed source Formula:

brew uninstall --cask trello-cli
brew install abigotado/tap/trello-cli

Uninstalling the Cask removes its executable, not the existing Keychain entries.

Highlights

  • macOS credentials now use Security.framework SecItem APIs directly instead of invoking /usr/bin/security.
  • auth migrate-keychain provides an ACL-only compatibility path for default, legacy, and named accounts.
  • The public CLI envelope, exit codes, flags, Keychain schema, and Linux/Windows credential backends remain compatible.
  • Release archives are provided for Linux and Windows. macOS is intentionally source-built through Homebrew.

Verification

Download the checksum file alongside an archive and run:

shasum -a 256 -c trello-cli_0.3.0_checksums.txt --ignore-missing

Run trello-cli contract for the envelope version and exit-code table, and trello-cli version for build provenance.
