What's Changed

• Add the MESSAGE_SUBSCRIBE channel mode, which replaces SUBSCRIBE. SUBSCRIBE is still accepted in ChannelOptions.modes as a synonym, but RealtimeChannel.modes now reports the granted mode as message_subscribe rather than subscribe #2317
• Deprecate calling channels.release() on a channel that is not initialized, detached or failed. The channel is still detached and released, but a deprecation warning is now logged. Call detach() and wait for it to complete before releasing the channel #2322
• Throw a descriptive error when useAbly, useChannel or usePresence is called outside an <AblyProvider>, rather than an opaque TypeError #2316
• Fix a detached channel re-entering attached on an unsolicited ATTACHED message. It now sends a DETACH and stays detached #2315
• Fix REST token renewal retrying with the expired Authorization header, and without limit. The retry now carries the renewed token and runs once #2303
• Omit null message fields from the wire payload rather than sending them as null, and no longer encrypt a message with no data #2301
• Fix ClientOptions.clientId rejecting undefined at runtime and null in the types #2312
• Store the default authMethod of GET in auth.authOptions when it is omitted #2313
• Include the clientId in the error reported when presence auto re-enter fails #2314
