NTP refresh version 0.98rx

This release just adds some refresh option for the NTP server. This is probably not useful for anybody. But I'm working on a ship, where ships time might change often and at unusual daytimes. Therefore I created some local fake NTP server (with node-red, json-example see below), which gives me as it's time a fake UTC which changes according to ships time. Setting my AWTRIX clock to refresh the NTP regularly, I can have it now synchronized with this ever changing time. If, for whatever reason, you find it useful, please add some comment in a ticket to let me know in which setup you might need some similar feature - maybe this concept can have other uses as well.

Don't stress public NTP servers, there is no need for this feature if you live in some place with a fixed timezone.

How to use this?

Install the attached firmware to your AWTRIX webinterface. I used some plain AWTRIX0.98 before. You will get the indication of the new software in the web interface. Additionally you will find some new option, called "RX" (for personal reasons.

  • enter some refresh time in the web interface to decrease the NTP refresh from 180 minutes (default in AWTRIX) down to 1 minute.
  • trigger some NTP refresh via mqtt topic awtrix/refreshntp , you can trigger some NTP refresh at minimum every 30 seconds
