These pages are preserved for historical reference only. They describe releases that are no longer developed, and they are not updated. Expect references to APIs, file names and entity IDs that no longer exist.

Users running an older release need documentation that matches the code they actually have. Deleting these pages would strand them. Instead they are frozen and labelled, and the Home page routes new users to the current track.

| Generation | Key characteristics |
|---|---|
| pre-1.2.8 |
pycrowipmodule installed from PyPI via the manifest requirements key. Fails to set up if PyPI is unreachable. |
| 1.2.8 – 2.0.0 | Direct local TCP implementation, UI config flow, no YAML. Unload/reload hardening. Still depends on the external library for the protocol layer. |
| 2.1.0-beta.1 | Driver vendored into the integration, Home Assistant 2026.9 API contract, entry.runtime_data, hub device with linked zone sub-devices, brand images, diagnostics, buttons, stub-based verification harnesses. |
- Pages whose file names contain a colon (
:) exist because they were created through the GitHub web editor. They render fine but are awkward to link to; the links above use the exact name. - The archived pages contain no cross-references to the current documentation, because they were written before it existed.
