Requirements & Supported Platforms

SharpDetect supports analysis of .NET applications running in the following environments:

  • SDK: .NET 8, 9 and 10
  • Architecture: x64
  • OS: Windows, Linux

Note: You need .NET 10 SDK to run SharpDetect. After that you can analyze .NET applications that target also different supported SDKs.

Command Line Interface

SharpDetect is packed as a .NET tool. It supports the following commands:

  • sharpdetect --help - Displays help for commands
  • sharpdetect --version - Displays tool version
  • sharpdetect init - Creates analysis descriptor file
  • sharpdetect run - Executes dynamic analysis based on the provided analysis descriptor file

Deadlock Detection Plugin

Analyzes usages of System.Threading.Monitor, System.Threading.Lock and System.Threading.Thread. Reports detected deadlocks.

Reports

Plugins generate reports as self-contained HTML files. These include analysis summary, environment and runtime information (loaded assemblies, instrumentation statistics, violating threads information - stack traces, affected synchronization objects...).
