v0.1.0

Harnel makes it possible to embed an agent directly into a Rust application, with the application owning its credentials, tools, instructions, and interface. It shares one fx runtime between Rust SDK callers and ACP clients.

This first release includes:

  • A typed Rust SDK for sessions, streamed events, cancellation, host tools, provider control, and persistent conversations.
  • ACP over stdio and a loopback listener, attached to the same runtime and session as the SDK.
  • Codex and Grok device-code authorization, plus configurable OpenAI Responses providers.
  • Precompiled native libraries from fx v0.0.10 for Linux GNU and macOS on x86_64/aarch64, and Windows x86_64 MSVC. Default dependencies do not require Zig or a separate fx installation.
  • Seven documented SDK examples and an independent Markdown notebook assistant using an ordinary crates.io dependency.
  • An explicit source-build option with automatic, checksum-verified Zig provisioning.

Add harnel = "0.1.0" to your application's dependencies. See the README, examples guide, and notebook application.

The API is early and may change in future 0.x releases. Supported systems and build requirements are documented in the README.
