Negotiate authenticated data-v2 independently on each relay leg, with independent per-leg keys and disjoint directional nonce prefixes with checked counters; no data-key derivation, extra round trip or per-frame bytes.
Preserve rolling wire upgrades with 0.5.2 across TCP/UDP and encrypted/plain traffic. Existing credentials, service keys and the default unencrypted mode are unchanged.
Make interrupted control-v2 writes terminal so cancellation cannot reuse a nonce or restart a partial frame.
Keep high-level Rust and Node SDK calls compatible. Low-level Rust request/response enum constructors must initialize the new optional data_protocol field, which requires this minor version bump.
Full data-v2 protection requires an updated relay and both endpoints; old peers continue using the legacy data format on their leg.
