Optional Accessibility Devkit tools, version 0.1.0.

  • MCP: four local tools for supplied HTML source, color contrast, English readability and timing settings. Uses the official Model Context Protocol SDK over stdio. Works without an API key.
  • Assist: contextual alt-text drafts, source-review suggestions and word suggestions. Choose a provider and model explicitly; generated text stays a draft for human review.

Download the two package archives and SHA256SUMS.txt below. These packages are available as release archives; the npm registry entries are not available yet. Existing Devkit npm/Python packages and the Accessibility plugin remain at 1.1.2.

shasum -a 256 -c SHA256SUMS.txt
npm install ./accessibility-devkit-mcp-0.1.0.tgz ./accessibility-devkit-assist-0.1.0.tgz

Use Node.js 22 or later. To register the MCP server with Codex, run the following from the directory where you installed the packages:

codex mcp add accessibility-devkit -- node "$PWD/node_modules/@accessibility-devkit/mcp/dist/cli.mjs"

Other clients can launch node with the absolute path to that file. The server should list scan_source, check_contrast, analyze_readability and assess_timing; black against white returns contrast ratio 21. Restart your client if it does not pick up the new server.

The release archives passed a clean consumer install using registry dependencies, an actual stdio client call to all four tools, invalid-input rejection, and the Assist CLI help/decorative-image checks. The source commit passed the Node 22/24, Python 3.11–3.14 and runtime parity checks. Source: 19a49449967f5a71a767acd8e615fb3b86990d8b.
