The drag lift briefly snapshots the source row before morphing to the
compact chip. The row is full-width from the caller's layout so the lift
can't be shrunk, but clip it to an inset rounded rect matching the
selection highlight instead of a hard full-bleed rectangle, softening the
transition into the chip.
