MixDesk X 1.42.017
Cable-free capture for Windows — the headline of the 1.42.013–.017 series:
- 🖥 All system audio — no cable needed (Windows 10 2004+): capture everything playing on your PC as an input strip, without any virtual cable or driver. MixDesk X excludes its own output, so capturing can never feed back. Note: this is a tap, not a redirect — apps keep playing on the Windows default output too; move the default to an unused device if you hear it twice (MixDesk X shows a hint).
- Apps (cable-free): capture a single app (Spotify, browser, a game …) as its own channel — same WASAPI Process Loopback API OBS uses. System processes are filtered from the list.
- System audio via VB-Cable (auto-route): one click sets the Windows default output to the free VB-Cable and picks it up as a source — the classic route, now working on Windows with platform-specific setup hints.
- No hidden automation: MixDesk X never re-routes your default output behind your back (auto-parking from 1.42.015/.016 was removed) — you stay in control, MixDesk X informs.
macOS build unchanged in behavior.
