ClipPress v0.1.0 Beta 4 (Preview)

Preview/beta build for testing and feedback. Not a final release.

Download

• Windows 10/11 x64 only: ClipPress-Windows-x64.exe (portable, ~133 MB, FFmpeg included). Download and run; there is no installer.
• No macOS or Linux builds were produced or tested for this preview.

Changed since Beta 3

• Stronger source safety: an export or merge will not write over any file it is reading from, including through a differently cased path or a hard link. A name that would land on a source gets a (clip) marker instead.
• More reliable export finalization: a finished export is no longer reported as a failure when only the final rename or cleanup step has trouble, and temporary Windows file locks are now retried as intended.
• Skipped outputs are counted correctly, and a run that skips everything says no new files were written.
• Saved custom output-name templates are kept, including templates from earlier versions.
• A clearer message when a file cannot be opened.
• A settings file that cannot be read is kept as a backup instead of being silently discarded.
• The in-app version check now finds preview releases.
• Smaller download (about 133 MB, down from about 238 MB), faster startup and lower renderer memory use.
• Layout fixes in the advanced export view, plus other bug fixes.

Known limitations

• Unsigned build: Windows SmartScreen may warn. No signing or notarization is claimed.
• Advanced mode is experimental and visually unfinished; Simple mode is the focus of this preview.

What to try

• Open a clip, mark I and O, export
• Target-file-size export, text overlays, per-track audio gain
• Multi-segment export (separate clips, merged clip, or both)
• Project save/load

Changed since Beta 2

• Help > Licenses and Help > Donate now point at ClipPress (repository license and Ko-fi page) instead of upstream pages
• Repository hardening and dependency updates merged since Beta 2 (navigation guards, HTTP API/body hardening, output-path checks, regression tests)

Known limitations

• This is a beta build for feedback, not a final release.
• Advanced mode is still experimental/unfinished visually. The Simple mode workflow is the main focus of this beta; Advanced controls are available, but not fully polished yet.
