The first public release of Yuzu, a local AI workspace for your Mac.

Highlights

  • Fully on-device. Yuzu asks uzu which Mirai-quantized model fits your Mac and downloads it on first launch. Progress shows in the model picker. If a download stops, click the model to retry.
  • Cowork and Code. A quiet writing room with a private sandbox, and a workspace for any folder you open.
  • Three permission modes. Workspace Read, Workspace Write, and YOLO. The Plan agent stays read-only.
  • Live turns. Thinking, text, and tool calls stream in. Replies render as Markdown.
  • MCP, skills, subagents, todos, and schedules built in.

Install

  1. Download Yuzu.dmg below and drag Yuzu into Applications.
  2. This build is ad-hoc signed. On first open, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway, or run: 
    xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Yuzu.app

Requirements

Apple Silicon Mac, macOS 26.4 or later. 16 GB of RAM or more recommended.
