myLinux v0.2.0
myLinux image v0.2.0: the RAM-resident arm64 Linux desktop that myLinux Launcher runs (kernel Image and rootfs.cpio.gz; SHA256SUMS lists their checksums).
No first-boot setup. The first boot formats the empty apps disk by itself in a few seconds, without downloading anything, so your home folder is kept from the start, and opens the menu (Option+Space). Apps install when you first open them: Install in the menu lists Claude Code, Codex, Chromium (also behind the ChatGPT and Claude web apps), Firefox and the developer tools (git, ssh, btop), each marked installed or not, and typing a name finds it. The first one also puts a minimal Debian base on the disk (once, about a minute). Install everything at once is still there.
Also since v0.1.0: the desktop's menus, themes and backgrounds, tiling, the agent usage panel, bar modules, desktop widgets and weather, the VNC viewer, Tailscale, and many fixes.

myLinux 0.1.0
First public build of myLinux: a RAM-resident arm64 Linux desktop for Apple-silicon Macs (Buildroot 2026.08, Linux 6.18, Qt 6.11 Wayland compositor, macOS-style look, Omarchy-style tiling, launcher, themes and backgrounds).
Run it
brew install qemu- Clone this repo, download
Imageandrootfs.cpio.gzintoout/ ./run.sh
On first boot choose "Set up the apps disk" to install Debian apps (Chromium, Firefox, Claude Code, Codex) onto the persistent disk image. Press Option+K inside myLinux for the keybindings.
SHA256SUMS lists the checksums of both files.
QEMU runtime 11.1.1-9
The accelerated QEMU runtime for myLinux Launcher (QEMU 11.1.1 with VirGL), revision 9.
- With every key going to the machine (Omarchy's default), Ctrl+Option+G now gives the keyboard back to the Mac as well as the mouse: ⌘Tab, Spotlight and the Mac's other shortcuts work again, while plain typing still reaches the machine. A click in the window, or Ctrl+Option+G again, sends every key to the machine again. Before, Ctrl+Option+G released only the mouse, and ⌘Tab kept going to the machine while its window was in front.
Built with tools/build-qemu-runtime.sh from adminmylinux/mylinux; the exact sources and patches are inside (source/, NOTICES.md).
QEMU runtime 11.1.1-8
The accelerated QEMU runtime for myLinux Launcher (QEMU 11.1.1 with VirGL), revision 8.
- The myLinux and Omarchy windows open on the display their resolution was chosen for (the launcher passes it along), and stay there when the resolution changes during start-up. Before, QEMU re-centred the window on the main screen at every resolution change, so with two displays it could land on the other one, twice (or half) the size it should be.

QEMU runtime 11.1.1-7
The accelerated QEMU runtime for myLinux Launcher (QEMU 11.1.1 with VirGL), revision 7.
- The myLinux and Omarchy windows start fixed at the machine's resolution again, as before 11.1.1-4, so Omarchy's first-boot screen fills its window (a guest's early console takes the window's size for its own). When the machine reaches its desktop resolution the window becomes resizable, so Window › Fill, tiling and dragging work from then on; until you size it, it keeps following the resolution. A window larger than its screen (a resolution made for another display) stays fixed, as it always was.
- Only a change of width counts as a size you picked (the title-bar toolbar changes the height as the window opens); the window is not shrunk to fit a screen while it follows the resolution, and fits it again when it moves to another display.
Built with tools/build-qemu-runtime.sh from adminmylinux/mylinux; the exact sources and patches are inside (source/, NOTICES.md).
QEMU runtime 11.1.1-6
The accelerated QEMU runtime for myLinux Launcher (QEMU 11.1.1 with VirGL), revision 6.
- Fixes 11.1.1-4 and -5 for good: a new Omarchy or myLinux window could still stop following the machine's resolution at once, so Omarchy's first-boot screen was drawn small in a corner of a larger black window. The title-bar toolbar changes the window's height a moment after it opens, which was taken for a size the user picked; now only a change of width counts as the user's (the window keeps the machine's aspect ratio, so Fill, dragging and the − / + buttons change it), and a height-only change is put right.
- While it follows the resolution the window is not shrunk to fit the screen it opens on (it is placed on the display the resolution was made for), and it takes the resolution's size again when it moves to another display.
Built with tools/build-qemu-runtime.sh from adminmylinux/mylinux; the exact sources and patches are inside (source/, NOTICES.md).
QEMU runtime 11.1.1-5
The accelerated QEMU runtime for myLinux Launcher (QEMU 11.1.1 with VirGL), revision 5.
- Fixes 11.1.1-4: the myLinux and Omarchy windows stopped following the machine's resolution from the start (adding the title-bar buttons was taken for a size the user picked), so Omarchy's boot screen was drawn small in a corner of a larger black window. The window now follows the resolution until you size it yourself, and Window › Fill and dragging still work from the start.

QEMU runtime 11.1.1-4
The accelerated QEMU runtime for myLinux Launcher (QEMU 11.1.1 with VirGL), revision 4.
- The myLinux and Omarchy windows are resizable from the start, so Window › Fill, the green button's tiling and dragging an edge work straight away (before, they did nothing until View › Zoom To Fit was turned on). Until you size the window yourself it follows the guest's resolution as the fixed window did, so the first-boot screen and myLinux's one-pixel-per-point picture are as before.
- Leaving full screen returns a window you never sized to following the guest's resolution.

QEMU runtime 11.1.1-3
The accelerated QEMU runtime for myLinux Launcher (QEMU 11.1.1 with VirGL), revision 3.
- The window's title-bar buttons are now −10% and +10% (the minus button used to mean "back to the starting size", which stopped working once the window had been enlarged another way), and myLinux's window has them too, not only Omarchy's.
- A size button turns View › Zoom To Fit on and now shows its check mark.

QEMU runtime qemu-runtime-11.1.1-22
The QEMU runtime that keeps a guest's Caps Lock like the Mac's by the guest's own keyboard light (myLinux's Cocoa patch). The window counted the presses it sent and never looked at the guest, so a press the guest did not take while it started left its Caps Lock on when the Mac's was off. Now a light that says the other thing than the Mac gets one more press: for a guest whose light follows the key (MYLINUX_CAPS_LOCK_LIGHT=1, Windows; otherwise learnt), and never in a stream.
