Two things the app was saying that were not true.
A rewrite level picked from the menu bar sticks. Every other place the level
can be set wrote it back. The menu bar popover did not, so a mode chosen there
lasted until the next launch and then reverted to whatever the Modes page had
last saved.
What's New says what shipped. The card printed today's date, whatever day you
opened it, beside the words "Initial Release" and a description of Deepgram,
Claude and GPT. Wave stopped calling any of them in 0.7.0, when transcription
and rewriting both moved on-device. It carries the real release note now, takes
its version from the bundle, and "View all changes" opens this page rather than
doing nothing. "Try it now" was a button wired to an empty closure and is gone.
The sidebar also read "All rights reserved" underneath an MIT licence.
Tools/Screenshots/make-docs-images.sh regenerates every image in the README:
each page of the main window photographed through the window server with its own
shadow, then composited onto a flat ground. It runs against a throwaway database
seeded with fixtures, so a capture cannot reach real transcripts, vocabulary or
preferences.
Open Wave-0.7.3.dmg and drag Wave into Applications. This build is signed ad
hoc rather than with a Developer ID, so Gatekeeper refuses the first launch:
open System Settings, Privacy & Security, and the note about Wave near the
bottom has an Open Anyway button. That is once, not every launch. Requires macOS
26 and Apple Silicon.
