ImpressionFEA 0.6.0
ImpressionFEA 0.6.0 by Marconnet Technologies LLC: richer results, a full view system, exports and reports, and die-only STEP import.
Downloads (Windows 10/11 x64, nothing to install)
| File | Contents | Choose it when |
|---|---|---|
| ImpressionFEA-0.6.0-win-x64-full.zip (839 MB) | NVIDIA GPU solver (cuDSS, CUDA 12 runtime, cuBLAS) + Intel MKL CPU solver | you have an NVIDIA GPU (driver R525 or newer) |
| ImpressionFEA-0.6.0-win-x64-light.zip (209 MB) | Intel MKL CPU solver only | no NVIDIA GPU, or a smaller download; Get-GpuSolver.ps1 can add the GPU libraries later |
Unzip and run ImpressionFEA.App.exe, then open the Demos tab. SHA-256 checksums are attached as .sha256 files.
What's new
- Damage result (normalized Cockcroft–Latham, ductile tearing risk) in 2D and 3D.
- Flow arrows: material velocity at every increment, 2D and 3D, with density and size controls.
- View ▾ panel (live): workpiece and each die's visibility and opacity, lighting, section plane (axis, offset, flip),
element edges, die-contact highlight (amber = bottom, magenta = top), colour map on/off. - Four-view layout (Top / Front / Right + isometric) and an XYZ triad in every 3D view; F fits the visible bodies.
- Iso-clipping: drag the colour-bar handles to hide elements outside a value range.
- Playback controls: play / pause / step / loop / speed.
- Exports: WebM video of the ram descent (with FFmpeg) plus telemetry; deformed part as STL or coloured PLY; and a
report generator that writes a self-contained HTML report (assumptions, setup, results, figures, telemetry, run
comparison) with the CSV, setup, log, STL/PLY and video. - Die-only STEP import (two bodies) with a workpiece you define: shape, size, rotation, position. New demo 7 uses
the gear-blank dies. - Compare runs: click any run in RUNS to bring its results back; Reset clears runs and telemetry.
- US / Metric units (US default: in, ksi, tonf, °F to 3 decimals; metric: mm, MPa, t, °C to 2 decimals).
- Esc aborts solves, multi-runs and exports; dialogs remember their folders; resizable panels.
- Hex-flange demo now fills to 99.9 %.
Assumptions
Adiabatic walls (no heat lost into the dies) · no heat generated by plastic deformation or friction (hence isothermal)
· rigid-viscoplastic, incompressible material (no elasticity / springback) · rigid dies · constant shear friction ·
quasi-static forming. Results are engineering estimates for design comparison, not certified predictions.
