ImpressionFEA 0.8.0: grain flow in 2D and 3D, die edges, input limits.

  • Grain flow result, in the results list next to stress and strain. It looks like an etched macro-section: you can see the fibre following the part contour, laps (lines folding over) and fibre running out through the flash.
    • 2D: material lines seeded along the billet fibre are carried through every increment with the metal flow.
    • 3D: the billet position of the material is tracked through the run, including across remeshes. Selecting Grain flow sections the part and draws the fibre lines on an exactly flat cut face. A cut across the fibre shows end grain.
    • Fibre direction (Auto / vertical / horizontal) and the number of lines (4–60) are under View ▾. Grain flow is computed from the stored results, so it works live during a run and in playback, videos and reports.
  • Die edges (3D view, View ▾ → Display): thin lines on the sharp edges of the die geometry, so the dies read even when the shading is flat or translucent.
  • Input limits: every numeric input has an allowed range, converted to your display units. A value outside it is set to the nearest limit and flagged in red. Temperature is limited to the material's calibrated window.
  • Iso-clip handles move in steps of 1/120 of the range (hold Shift to snap to whole colour bands) and show their value.
  • Export ▾ moved to the bottom-right corner of the window.
  • Fix: velocity arrows were blank in 2D increments that remeshed.
