What's New

📊 Year-over-Year Comparison

Compare your GitHub contribution activity across multiple years with a visual bar chart!

  • Current Year → Shows your contributions for 2026
  • Previous Year → Shows your contributions for 2025
  • Two Years Ago → Shows your contributions for 2024
  • Percentage change indicators show growth or decline vs previous year

How to Use

  1. Open the GitGraph app
  2. Scroll down to the "Year Comparison" card
  3. View your contribution totals across the last 3 years
  4. Green/red percentage shows your year-over-year change

🔔 Daily Contribution Reminders

Never miss a day of contributions with smart daily reminders!

  • Morning Reminder (7:00 AM) → Start your day with motivation
  • Evening Reminder (11:00 PM) → Last chance before midnight
  • Reminders persist after device restart

How to Use

  1. Open the GitGraph app
  2. Find the "Daily Reminders" card
  3. Toggle the switch to enable reminders
  4. You'll receive notifications at 7 AM and 11 PM daily

📈 Contribution Activity Summary

Get a comprehensive GitHub-style activity summary right in the app!

  • Commits → Total commits across all repositories
  • Created Repositories → List with language badges and dates
  • Pull Requests → Featured PR with lines changed, merged/closed stats
  • PR Reviews → Total reviews with per-repository breakdown
  • Year Selector → Filter activity by any of the last 5 years

How to Use

  1. Open the GitGraph app
  2. Scroll to the "Contribution Activity" card
  3. Use the year dropdown to select a year
  4. Tap on sections to expand details
  5. Tap PR titles to copy links to clipboard

  • Added fetchYearlyContributions method for year comparison

  • Extended GraphQL queries for commits, repos, PRs, and reviews

What's New

🎨 Widget Now Matches App Theme

The home screen widget now displays contribution tiles in the same color theme you've selected in the app!

  • Green Theme → Widget shows GitHub default green colors
  • Blue Theme → Widget shows slate/steel blue colors
  • Yellow Theme → Widget shows warm amber/gold colors

How to Use

  1. Open the GitGraph app
  2. Select your preferred color theme (Green, Blue, or Yellow)
  3. Tap "Update Widget Now" to refresh the widget
  4. Your home screen widget will now match your selected theme!

Technical Changes

Flutter (widget_service.dart)

  • Widget data now includes colorTheme field
  • Color theme preference is synced to widget via SharedPreferences

Android Widget (GitHubContributionsWidget.kt)

  • Added 3 color palettes: GREEN_COLORS, BLUE_COLORS, YELLOW_COLORS
  • Widget reads color theme from app preferences
  • Contribution cells render in the selected theme colors

🎨 Theme-Aware Streak Colors

The streak icons and text now match your selected color theme:

Theme Current Streak (🔥) Longest Streak (🏆)
Green Orange Gold
Blue Dark Blue Light Blue

Design Philosophy

  • Current streak uses a darker shade (level 2) of the theme
  • Longest streak uses the brightest shade (level 4) of the theme
  • This creates visual hierarchy: your best achievement stands out more

How It Works

  1. Select a color theme using the colored circles below the graph
  2. The contribution graph colors change
  3. The streak icons and text colors also update to match

Technical Changes

  • Added getCurrentStreakColor() helper method to GitHubColors
  • Added getLongestStreakColor() helper method to GitHubColors
  • Updated user card to use theme-aware colors for streak display

Personalize your contribution graph with three beautiful color themes:

  • Green (🟢) - Classic GitHub green (default)
  • Blue (🔵) - Cool slate/steel blue
  • Yellow (🟡) - Warm amber/gold

How to Use

  1. Open the app
  2. Scroll to the contribution graph
  3. Below the graph, tap on any colored circle to change the theme
  4. Your selection is saved automatically

Easily refresh your contribution data with a simple pull-down gesture:

  • Pull Down - Swipe down anywhere on the main screen to refresh
  • Visual Feedback - Green circular progress indicator appears at the top
  • Haptic Feedback - Feel a subtle vibration when you pull
  • Confirmation - Snackbar shows "Contributions refreshed!" when complete
  • Widget Update - Home screen widget is also updated automatically

How It Works

  1. Open the app
  2. Pull down on the screen (swipe from top to bottom)
  3. Release to trigger refresh
  4. Wait for the data to load
  5. See the confirmation message

  • Implemented _onPullToRefresh method

Longest Streak Display

The user card now shows your longest contribution streak alongside your current streak:

  • Trophy Icon (🏆) - Gold/yellow color for longest streak
  • Best Streak Count - Shows "X days best" for your record streak
  • Compact Layout - Both streaks displayed side by side

How It Works

  • Current Streak (🔥 orange) - Consecutive days with contributions from today/yesterday
  • Longest Streak (🏆 gold) - Your best streak in the contribution data (last year)

Technical Changes

  • Added longestStreak getter to ContributionData model
  • Calculates longest consecutive days with contributions
  • Updated user card layout to show both streaks compactly

Current Contribution Streak

The user card now displays your current contribution streak - the number of consecutive days you've made contributions:

  • Fire Icon - Orange fire icon when you have an active streak
  • Streak Count - Shows "X days streak" (e.g., "15 days streak")
  • No Streak State - Gray icon with "No current streak" when streak is 0
  • Smart Calculation - If today has no contributions yet, it checks from yesterday

How It Works

The streak counts consecutive days with at least 1 contribution, starting from today (or yesterday if today has no contributions yet) and going backwards.

Technical Changes

  • Added currentStreak getter to ContributionData model
  • Streak calculation handles edge cases (today with no contributions, future dates)
  • Proper pluralization ("1 day" vs "X days")

Tap any cell in the contribution graph to see detailed information about that day:

  • Info Panel - Displays the date and contribution count below the graph
  • Visual Highlight - Selected cell gets a white border and subtle glow effect
  • Toggle Selection - Tap the same cell again to deselect
  • Haptic Feedback - Light haptic feedback when tapping cells

How It Works

  1. Tap any cell in the contribution graph
  2. An info panel appears showing: "X contributions on Month Day, Year"
  3. The selected cell is highlighted with a white border
  4. Tap the cell again to deselect and hide the info panel

  • Converted ContributionGraph from StatelessWidget to StatefulWidget
  • Added selected day state tracking
  • Implemented animated container for smooth highlight transitions
  • Added info panel widget with contribution level color indicator

What You'll See

When the app loads or when you save new credentials, you'll see an animated shimmer effect on:

  • The user profile card (avatar, name, contribution count)
  • The contribution graph (grid cells and legend)

The shimmer provides visual feedback that data is being loaded, improving the perceived performance of the app.
