LidGuard v1.1.0 makes lid-closed sessions easier to use for unattended coding tasks and remote access.

What’s new

  • Optional Prevent Automatic Lock switch for active LidGuard sessions.
  • Automatic-lock protection is restored after helper restarts and released when the session stops, expires, hits the battery or thermal safeguard, or is externally overridden.
  • Live protection status in the menu bar app.
  • CLI support through --prevent-auto-lock and --allow-auto-lock.
  • 22 policy, recovery, timer, battery, thermal, and compatibility tests passing.

Install

  1. Download LidGuard-1.1.0-arm64.dmg.
  2. Drag LidGuard into Applications.
  3. On first launch, if macOS blocks the ad-hoc signed build, use System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway.
  4. Install or reauthorize the helper once when prompted.

Supports Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 13 or later. User-initiated locking and organization-managed security policies are not bypassed.
