0.12.1
Immutable
release. Only release title and notes can be modified.
Changed
- US English throughout. The settings heading "Behaviour" is now
"Behavior", and the text written into a new Story Outline file now says
"organized" and "Also recognized". The docs (AGENTS.md and the feature plans)
were converted too, and AGENTS.md now asks for US English only.
What's Changed
- chore: unify across documentations and UI to use US english and instruct the AGENT to only use this english by @aescanes in #25
Full Changelog: 0.12.0...0.12.1
0.12.0
Immutable
release. Only release title and notes can be modified.
Added
- Locations view for the StoryLines tab: the same read-only view as
Characters, with one line per location, built from the notes'
scribe-note-locationsfrontmatter and the Story Outline'sLocations
column.
Changed
- Places are now locations. The frontmatter key is
scribe-note-locations
and the Story Outline column isLocations. The oldscribe-note-placeskey
andPlacescolumn are still read, but never written — rename them when
convenient.

0.11.1
Immutable
release. Only release title and notes can be modified.
Changed
- Update part of the README documentation to improve clarity and readability on the
Obsidian community page.

0.11.0
Immutable
release. Only release title and notes can be modified.
Added
- Characters mode view for the StoryLines tab: a combo box at the top right switches between StoryLines (unchanged) and a read-only Characters view with one line per character, built from the notes' scribe-note-characters frontmatter and the Story Outline's Characters column (merged; a ⚠ flags notes and rows that disagree). Nothing is saved in this mode, and each tab remembers its mode.
What's Changed
Full Changelog: 0.10.0...0.11.0
0.10.0
Immutable
release. Only release title and notes can be modified.
Added
- The Story folder setting now offers type-ahead folder suggestions as you
type, and only applies the typed path when you click Set (or press
Enter), validating first that the folder actually exists.
Changed
- The settings tab now groups its rows under Scope (Story folder,
StoryLines file name, Story Outline file name) and Behaviour (Title /
Folder language) headings, instead of one flat list. - Story folder is now a single folder (one story per vault) instead of a
list — the story-switcher dropdown in the StoryLines toolbar is gone.
Existing configurations are migrated automatically: the first folder you
had listed becomes the new single Story folder. - Removed the two
!importantoverrides on the StoryLines tab-header icon's
active-tab colour (added in 0.9.3). The active-tab rule now targets the tab
header'ssvgdirectly instead of.workspace-tab-header-inner-icon— the
same element Obsidian's own active-tab rule setscoloron — so the colour
is applied directly to the icon rather than inherited from that parent, and
wins over the inherited value without needing to out-specify Obsidian's rule.
What's Changed
- fix: drop !important from StoryLines tab-header icon colour by @aescanes in #21
- feat: add folder autocomplete and validation to the Story folder setting by @aescanes in #22
Full Changelog: 0.9.5...0.10.0
0.9.5
Immutable
release. Only release title and notes can be modified.
Added
- README Installation section: the minimum Obsidian version requirement,
a link to the community plugins
page, and a link to the latest release for manually copyingmain.js,
manifest.json, andstyles.cssinto the vault's plugins folder. - README About the name section explaining "Scribe of Lagash" — "Scribe"
for the writer at the center of every plugin in the series, "Lagash" for
Nippur de Lagash, the classic Argentine comic.
Changed
- README images now reference
raw.githubusercontent.comabsolute URLs
instead of relativedocs/images/...paths, so they render correctly
wherever the README is displayed off of GitHub (e.g. the Obsidian community
plugins page).
Full Changelog: 0.9.4...0.9.5
0.9.4
Immutable
release. Only release title and notes can be modified.
Added
- Screenshots for the StoryLine tab and Story Outline file in the README's "Current features" section.
Changed - "Scribe of Lagash Plugins" section links in the README with plain markdown links.
Changed
npm run lintnow runs
eslint-plugin-obsidianmd's
recommended config — the same checks Obsidian's plugin review runs — in
place of a hand-rolled@typescript-eslintsetup, and lints the whole repo
(eslint .) instead of justsrc/tests.tsconfig.jsonnow enables
strictmode (plusnoImplicitReturns,noFallthroughCasesInSwitch,
skipLibCheck,forceConsistentCasingInFileNames) instead of the two
individual flags it had before.- CI and release workflows use
actions/checkout/actions/setup-nodev6
(was v4) with npm dependency caching. - Tooling config (devDependencies,
eslint.config.mjs, build scripts) now
matches the siblingscribe-of-lagash-goals-statsplugin, so the two
repos stay easy to cross-maintain. - Added a new
npm run lint:csscheck using
stylelint-config-obsidianmd
— the same CSS rules Obsidian's plugin review runs (no!important, no
externalurl()s, …) — wired intonpm run validateand CI. The two
!importantuses from 0.9.3 (active-tab icon colour) are still needed —
confirmed by trying to out-specify Obsidian's own rule instead, which
didn't win in practice — so they're kept, now with an inline
stylelint-disable-next-lineand the reasoning documented in
styles.css. - stroke-width in the icon now in 11.
Fixed
- A few Notice/command strings said lowercase "story outline" instead of the
"Story Outline" feature name used everywhere else in the UI.
Full Changelog: 0.9.3...0.9.4
0.9.3
Immutable
release. Only release title and notes can be modified.
Changed
- Narrowed the StoryLines tab icon's
!important(flagged by Obsidian's
plugin review) to only the active-tab rule — the unfocused-tab rule doesn't
need it. A same-specificity.is-activeselector was tried first but the
active tab still lost the brand colour, so Obsidian's own rule for that
state must chain more ancestor classes than can be matched without
duplicating an internal selector;!importanton just that one rule is
the reliable fix.
Full Changelog: 0.9.2...0.9.3
0.9.2
Immutable
release. Only release title and notes can be modified.
Changed
- The StoryLines view's tab icon now uses the same brand colour as the ribbon
icon, in both the unfocused and focused (active) tab states — it previously
followed the theme's default icon colour instead. The tab title also now
reads "(SL) StoryLines" instead of "StoryLines". - "Book" is now "story" throughout the UI and documentation (e.g. Book
folder is now Story folder, "Setting up a book" is now "Setting up a
story", the empty-state prompt, and the Lines/Outline file template text) —
wording only, the underlyingbookFolderssetting and code are unchanged so
existing configurations aren't affected. - Documentation and plugin metadata (README, AGENTS.md, CONTRIBUTING.md, the
outline-file plan doc,package.json,manifest.json) now say "writers"
instead of "novelists" and "story" instead of "novel" or "book" throughout.
Full Changelog: 0.9.1...0.9.2
0.9.1
Immutable
release. Only release title and notes can be modified.
Changed
- Align cards to Story Outline now moves a real note onto the line its
outline row names, the same way it already did for a ghost card — until now
it only reset the real note's column, leaving it on whatever line a past
drag had put it on. A real note with no row, or whose row names no line (or
one that isn't inLines.md), is left on its current line, same as before.
Fixed
- Moving a card (or renaming a line, or undoing) snapped the board's scroll
position back to the top-left.render()always tears down and rebuilds the
view's DOM from scratch, including the scrollable board, so the browser
reset its scroll offset along with it. The old scroll position now carries
over to the rebuilt view; switching books still starts back at the top-left,
since that's a genuinely new view. - A card's ⚠ discrepancy mark could be invisible on a title long enough to
fill its 2-line clamp (0.9.0's fix for the card-height bug above) — the mark
was a child of the clamped title, so the clamp truncated it away along with
the overflowing title text. The mark now sits in its own row next to the
title instead of inside it, so it's never clipped regardless of title length.
What's Changed
- fix: preserve scroll position and mark visibility, align real cards to their outline line by @aescanes in #20
