pycview 0.2 introduces features for displaying multiple code objects as well as local variable and position information.

Features

  • Code object tabs: Tabs allow opening multiple code objects at once. When a file is open, a tab is created for its code object. By clicking on a code object within the co_consts list, a new tab will appear with details of the selected code object.
  • Local variables: Code objects now include local variables as stored in the co_varnames, co_freevars, and co_cellvars attributes.
  • Line and column offsets: Code objects now include line and column offset information for the bytecode instructions within the object. This data is parsed from co_linetable or co_lnotab, depending on the bytecode version of the supplied file.

Changes

  • An about dialog was added, accessible from the menubar.
  • The co_flags entry no longer displays a hex integer. It now displays a union of code object flag names as found in the Python inspect module.
