XVTR (Transverters)

AetherSDR supports external transverters for VHF/UHF operation via the radio's XVTA and XVTB antenna ports.

Configuring Transverters

  1. Go to Settings → Radio Setup → XVTR tab
  2. Click Create New Transverter
  3. Fill in:
    • Name — e.g., "2m"
    • RF Freq (MHz) — transverter output frequency (e.g., 144.000)
    • IF Freq (MHz) — radio IF frequency (e.g., 28.000)
    • LO Freq — auto-calculated (RF - IF)
    • LO Error (Hz) — frequency calibration offset
    • RX Gain (dB) — transverter receive gain
    • Max Power (dBm) — maximum safe TX power
    • RX Only — disable TX for receive-only transverters

Band Selection

  1. Click Band in the left sidebar
  2. Click XVTR in the band grid
  3. Your configured transverter bands appear
  4. Click a band to tune to it
  5. Click HF to return to the regular band grid

Frequency Entry on XVTR Bands

When on an XVTR band (antenna XVTA/XVTB or frequency > 54 MHz):

  • Bare integers get the decimal inserted after the 3rd digit
  • 1446 → 144.6 MHz
  • 14696 → 146.96 MHz
  • 4401 → 440.1 MHz
  • Explicit decimals work normally: 144.6 → 144.6 MHz

Antenna Selection

XVTR bands use the XVTA or XVTB antenna ports. The radio automatically routes through the transverter when these ports are selected.
