  • Deliver the Bitcoin derivatives practice app and developer starter as a versioned MIT source package with checksums and an exact source manifest.
  • Apply available dependency updates and adapt local database tests and development commands to the current runtime.
  • Preserve practice balances when a browser storage write fails, show a clear recovery message, and allow a retry when storage becomes available.
  • Add guarded local setup, explicit fresh-database browser workflows, native WebMCP verification, source consumer checks and Linux/Windows release gates.
  • Preserve existing wallet derivation, storage namespaces, SQL migrations, protocol harnesses and historical verification evidence.

Download the source ZIP, manifest and SHA256SUMS. Verify the checksums before extracting into a new directory. Node.js 24.19.0 or newer within 24.x and npm 12.2.0 are required. The source includes the MIT license, locked dependencies and both preserved SQL migrations. This v1 is a Bitcoin derivatives practice app and developer starter. The public Sites deployment is maintained separately. No LLM or provider API key is needed for practice.

Installation, upgrade and recovery.

Lazer 0.1.3 · Public Testnet trading

Pre-release

@agammann agammann released this 17 Sep 04:58

Lazer has completed a funded trade and withdrawal on the public Bitcoin Testnet 4 network, independently checked with Bitcoin Core. The website and source are public. Dollar balances are simulated.

Open Lazer

The live test used a 100,000 satoshi deposit, credited to Alice after eight confirmations. Alice then sold 20,000 satoshis to Bob at 60,000 dUSD per Bitcoin, settling 12 dUSD through the shared order book.

Bob withdrew 15,000 satoshis to his Bitcoin Core wallet, paying a 143 satoshi miner fee. The withdrawal spends the actual deposit output and returns 84,857 satoshis as exchange change. Core independently verified the exact receiving address and amount. At 04:57 UTC on September 17, 2026, Bitcoin Core reported seven confirmations. Lazer independently marked the withdrawal confirmed after its six confirmation threshold. The complete public deposit, trade and withdrawal cycle is verified.

The final exchange balances are Alice: 80,000 satoshis and 100,012 dUSD; Bob: 4,857 satoshis and 99,988 dUSD. No open orders or balance reservations remain. Retrying the saved withdrawal preserved its transaction ID and did not debit Bob twice.

This release also prevents reuse of old withdrawal identifiers after request receipts expire, keeps every open order visible and cancellable regardless of recent history, and preserves an acknowledged broadcast while the explorer indexes the transaction. Pending transfers are checked automatically while the page is visible.

All 26 automated checks, TypeScript checks and the production build passed in GitHub Actions. The automated API tests use local D1 SQL with explicit authentication and chain fixtures. Separate Bitcoin Core regtest coverage and this public Testnet evidence are documented independently.

Lazer is a bounded Testnet pilot. Mainnet Bitcoin and real USD are not supported. See the README for setup, operating limits, wallet secret backups and reproducible verification commands.

Lazer 0.1.1 · Testnet transfer updates

Pre-release

@agammann agammann released this 17 Sep 03:07

Lazer is publicly available with funded Bitcoin Testnet 4 accounts, a shared limit order book, atomic trade settlement, cancellation, and signed withdrawals to Bitcoin Core. USD is simulated.

Open Lazer

This update checks pending deposits and broadcast withdrawals automatically while the page is visible. Unchanged confirmation checks do not grow the ledger. Manual refresh and retry of the same prepared transaction remain available.

Verification: 23 checks passed, including production API handlers against local D1 SQL. Concurrent deposits credit once, concurrent orders cannot overspend, and competing withdrawals cannot reuse an input. API tests explicitly use fixture authentication and chain data. TypeScript and the production build passed in GitHub Actions.

The full deposit, Alice to Bob trade, and 15,000 satoshi withdrawal cycle passed against Bitcoin Core regtest with six confirmations and a 143 satoshi fee. This is separate from public Testnet evidence.

Public Testnet status at 03:06 UTC on September 17, 2026: the 100,000 satoshi deposit has one confirmation, independently verified by Bitcoin Core. The hosted interface automatically updated to 1/6. The funded hosted trade and withdrawal round trip remains pending until the deposit reaches six confirmations.

This release is a Testnet pilot with bounded capacity and server held test keys. Mainnet custody and real USD are not supported. See the README for setup, operating limits, backup requirements, and reproducible tests.

@agammann agammann released this 17 Sep 02:50

Lazer now supports funded Bitcoin Testnet 4 accounts, a shared limit order book, immediate ledger settlement, order cancellation, and withdrawals to Bitcoin Core. USD balances are simulated.

Open Lazer

Verified: 18 accounting and wallet tests, TypeScript checks, production build, and GitHub Actions. The full deposit, Alice to Bob trade, and signed withdrawal cycle passed against a Bitcoin Core regtest node, including an exact 15,000 satoshi receipt after six locally mined confirmations. Hosted sign in, account persistence, order reservations, cancellation, private data isolation, cross origin rejection, and mobile layout were checked.

Public Testnet status at publication: Bitcoin Core signed and broadcast a 100,000 satoshi deposit to the hosted app. It is still awaiting confirmations, so the hosted funded trade and withdrawal round trip remains unverified. The app requires six confirmations and does not credit unconfirmed funds.

This prerelease is for test coins only. It uses server held Testnet keys and a bounded shared ledger. Mainnet custody and real USD are not supported. See the README for setup, operating limits, key backup requirements, and reproducible Bitcoin Core tests.
