--template is deprecated, and the SDK HTTP templates are collapsed into one. Generated projects are the same as in 0.10.0 apart from refreshed dependency versions.
Why
The two template types came from MCP SDK v1, which needed a separate stateless and stateful HTTP server. SDK v2 doesn't: createMcpHandler runs the server factory once per request and serves 2025-era clients through the same path. So both template types generated the same project, and with FastMCP removed in 0.10.0, --template no longer did anything for any project.
What changes
--templateis deprecated. It still parses, so existing scripts keep working. It is hidden from--help, prints a deprecation warning, and has no effect on output. It will be removed in a future breaking release.- One behaviour change:
--stdio --template=statefulused to exit with an error. Now it only warns and generates the stdio project, because the flag no longer means anything. - Template dependencies refreshed (all minor or patch, no new majors):

- Node floor unchanged at

Upgrading
npx @agentailor/create-mcp-server@0.11.0If your scripts pass --template, you can drop it now. It will stop being accepted in a later release.
