Alan (Home Automation Guy) has published a full tutorial (Oct 14, 2024) which walks through the whole process. Some small errata:

  • He lists MQTT as a pre-requisite, but Bermuda does not have any requirement for MQTT.
  • The auto-detection of bermuda integration depends on seeing an iphone
  • The tip about disabling the HA Companion Apps BLE transmitter is good, but bear in mind it will cause delays in detecting "at home" on returning. Consider using a Zone automation to use GPS to turn the transmitter back on well before you get home for best results.

Fixt has a great walk-through on setting up Bermuda, and some comparisons to ESPresence as well. They also cover how to do the calibration if you wish to experiment with that, too!
