Release list
DBJoy 0.4.10
Changed
- Copy Database's table list makes clear its checkboxes are for data. The column is now called Data, and a line under Tables says that every table's structure is copied and unchecked tables are created empty.
- Empty tables show "0 bytes" instead of "Zero KB".
Install
Open the DMG and drag DBJoy to Applications. Signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple.
Requires macOS 15 or later on Apple Silicon.

DBJoy 0.4.9
New
- Copy Database lets you pick which tables come with their rows. The window lists the source's tables with their estimated row count and size, biggest first, with a filter and All / None buttons. Unchecked tables are copied empty, and foreign keys into them are added without checking the copied rows. With Copy rows in platform schemas on, platform tables such as
auth.usersare in the list too; unchecking one keeps the target's rows.
Changed
- Copy Database turns off the statement timeout and the idle-in-transaction timeout for its own session, so server or role defaults don't end a long copy.
- When the server drops the connection during a copy, the error suggests leaving out the rows of the biggest tables.

DBJoy 0.4.8
Fixed
- Copy Database failed with "cannot drop sequence … because column id of table … requires it" when the target's
publicschema had a table with an identity column (GENERATED … AS IDENTITY) and had to be emptied in place, as on Supabase. A column's sequence is now dropped together with its table.

DBJoy 0.4.7
Fixed
- Copy Database now works between Supabase projects (and other managed services) without changing any roles. It copies your schemas, tables and data, and leaves the platform's schemas (auth, storage, realtime, …) as they are.
- When
publicholds an extension that belongs to the platform, such asvectoron Supabase, DBJoy emptiespublicin place instead of skipping it, and the extension stays. - Foreign keys from your tables into platform tables, such as
profiles → auth.users, are added without checking the copied rows, so rows that point at users the target doesn't have still load. - Your triggers and policies on platform tables (such as
on_auth_user_created) are replaced with the source's. - Not copied: rows of the platform's extension tables (pg_cron's jobs), event triggers, and subscriptions.
- The confirmation lists what is kept, emptied and left out. Anything the copy couldn't replace is listed afterwards as a warning.
New
- Copy rows in platform schemas (off by default) also copies rows such as Supabase's
auth.users.

DBJoy 0.4.6
Fixed
- Copy Database failed on managed services (Supabase, RDS and others) with errors like "must be owner of schema pgbouncer", because those services keep schemas and extensions owned by their own roles. DBJoy now leaves those schemas alone instead of dropping them, and skips schemas the source's user can't read. The confirmation lists what will be left as it is.

DBJoy 0.4.5
New
- Copy Database (Database → Copy Database…) replaces everything in one database with an exact copy of another, for example production into a local database. It copies every schema, table, view, materialized view, function, procedure, type, sequence, trigger and extension, with or without the data.
- DBJoy drops every schema in the target first, then loads the source with pg_dump and psql in one transaction. If anything fails or you cancel, the target stays as it was.
- You confirm by typing the target database's name. Read-only connections can't be a target.
- Owners and grants aren't copied by default, so the copy works between servers with different roles. Turn on "Copy owners and privileges" to keep them.
- psql now ships inside the app next to pg_dump.

DBJoy 0.4.4
Fixed
- If DBJoy was updated while it was running, clicking Open file, Export, Save script, or choosing an SSH key froze the window for about 10 seconds and then showed nothing. macOS can't show open and save dialogs for an app whose files were replaced underneath it. DBJoy now shows an alert asking you to restart instead.

DBJoy 0.4.3
Fixed

DBJoy 0.4.2

- Dragging connections in the starred bar now works. In 0.4.1 the drag didn't start or wasn't accepted.
- The dragged connection follows the pointer as a round avatar and leaves a gap where it was.
