Commander v0.6.0 improves remote file operations, navigation, and everyday usability.

  • Remote connections: Improve stalled-folder handling, connection cancellation, reconnect readiness, and deletion on GVfs mounts, including SFTP.
  • Transfer recovery: Add reviewed retries for unfinished transfers, content verification after SFTP reconnects, and clearer low-space, pause, and cancellation controls.
  • Consistent selection: Keep ordinary selection aligned with keyboard focus in List, Grid, and Column views while preserving explicitly marked batches. Retain the cursor when switching views.
  • Miller columns: Improve keyboard navigation, type-ahead, refresh, and session restoration, including empty folders and cancelled branches.
  • Quieter interface: Refine action styling and sidebar grouping, improve muted-text readability, add a hidden-files toolbar toggle, and show readable, copyable column error details.
  • Safer shutdown: Add close confirmation for active work and bounded shutdown when a worker stalls.

Linux packages are built for x86_64 and ARM64 in .deb, .rpm, Arch Linux, and AppImage formats, with checksums and signed update metadata.
