Release Notes for Seq66 v. 0.99.28 2026-10-09 "Unhappy MACNAM"

This version introduces better support for RPN/NRPN, macros, and
System Exclusive. A simple calculation dialog is provided for
trouble-shooting in the event editor.

Also many fixes, tweaks, and minor updates.

  • Added a combo-box to select an output buss for macros.
    MIDI "Ctrl Out" is the default selection.
• Pattern editor.
  • Changed the color palette setup slightly.
  • Fixed the text drawing in a pattern slot.
  • Pattern slot.
    • Added a Thru toggle to the right-click slot menu.
    • Added a yellow Thru indicator.
  • Added showing mouse coordinates in note tooltips.
  • Improved the selection of notes in the piano roll.
• RPN/NRPN/Macro dialog. This dialog is accessible in the pattern and
  event editors and the Edit / Macro menu. It can send full RPN
  events with coarse and fine settings. It can load and save *.syx
  and macro files. See NEW for details.
• Edit / Preferences / MIDI Clock and Input.
  • Port-mapping.
    • Added a "Re-enable" button to re-activate missing ports that
      are now plugged in. A restart is required.
  • Sleep time added to restart to mitigate port changes not showing
    up.
• Event editor.
  • Added a button to bring up the RPN/NRPN/Macro dialog.
  • Added a minimalistic trouble-shooting calculation dialog.
• Miscellaneous.
  • Added show_filespec_select_dialog() to return the
    full file-specification of the selected file.
  • Added helpful diagnostic functions to the calculations and
    strfunctions modules.
  • Many tiny improvements to various parts of the user-interface.
• Documentation updated.
