Settings

Open the Settings tab. Reader settings here are the defaults for every document; most can also be changed from inside the reader.

Appearance

Setting	What it does
Theme	Light, Dark, Black (pure black for AMOLED screens) or follow the system.
Language	The app's language, independent of the phone's. Choose Use your phone's language to follow the system. See Languages and Translation.
Show Tools Tab	Turn off to hide the Tools tab and the reader's PDF Tools entry, for a reader-only app.
Hide Hidden Files	Leaves out files and folders whose names start with a dot, such as app caches and backups. Off by default.

Setting	What it does
Brightness	Follow the system brightness, or set a custom level used while reading.
Scroll Mode	Vertical or horizontal page scrolling.
Default Zoom	How documents open: Fit Page, Fit Width or Actual Size.
Double Tap Zoom	How far a double-tap zooms in, from 1.1× to 5×.
Reading Theme	Light, Dark, Sepia or Black for the pages themselves.
Screen Orientation	Automatic, or lock to portrait or landscape while reading.
Snap to Page	Scrolling settles on whole pages.
Tap to Turn Page	Tap the edges of the page to move between pages.
Auto-Hide Toolbar	The reader's bars hide 5 seconds after they appear.
Keep Screen On	The screen stays on while a document is open.

Setting	What it does
Check for Updates	Checks GitHub for a new version now.
Install Pending Update	Appears when an update has been downloaded but not installed yet.
Auto-check Interval	How often the app checks on its own: daily, every 3 days, weekly (default), every 2 weeks, monthly, or never.

Update checks only fetch the public release information from GitHub; see Privacy.
