Avatar Studio 0.2.0 brings complete browser customization, fluid body shapes, and a creator with matching local MCP workflows. This release includes browser package 0.2.0 and MCP server 0.4.0.

Create and customize

  • 50 accessories, independent colors, matching eye colors, eye size/spacing, and classic or seeded fluid silhouettes.
  • Shape-fitting accessories shared by the creator, component, and image exports.
  • SVG, PNG, and GIF export helpers, with frames, backgrounds, padding, and presence badges.
  • Full configuration helpers for expressions, pointer following, looping, antenna visibility/blinking, and motion policies.
  • A compact editor with movement beside the preview and downloads kept visible while options scroll.
  • Nine creator languages and opt-in full-page Google Translate for the docs. Code and identifiers remain literal; text drawn inside examples remains unchanged.

Build with npm and MCP

  • Eleven local MCP tools for stable identities, brand palettes, batches, variants, expression packs, sprite sheets with coordinates, and live component integration code.
  • Eight searchable documentation guides with copyable commands and mobile navigation.
  • 24 animated avatar designs and 48 illustrated application use cases, including a searchable website gallery.

Quality and security

The validated release passed code quality, package/type checks, dependency review, CodeQL, three browser engines, and MCP tests on Node 22/24. MCP runs locally over stdio with strict input schemas and bounded, in-memory outputs. Repository branches and release tags are protected.

git clone --branch v0.2.0 https://github.com/ai-calypse/avatar-studio.git
cd avatar-studio
npm ci
npm run dev
# Local MCP, in a separate terminal:
npm ci --prefix mcp --ignore-scripts
npm run mcp:start

MCP requires Node.js 22 or later. The browser package excludes the website and MCP server. GitHub release availability is separate from npm registry publication; check the npm package and publishing workflow before installing 0.2.0 from the registry.
