OneTimePaste v0.1.0-alpha

Automatically detect and copy one-time passcodes from your Messages app.

What it does

OneTimePaste runs quietly in your menu bar and automatically copies verification codes from text messages to your clipboard. No more hunting through texts for 2FA codes.

Installation

  1. Download OneTimePaste.app.zip
  2. Unzip and drag to Applications folder
  3. Right-click app and select "Open" (first time only)
  4. Grant permissions when prompted
  5. Click the key icon in your menu bar to start monitoring

Requirements

  • macOS 10.15 or later
  • Messages app with text history

Important Notes

  • Privacy: All processing happens locally on your device
  • Permissions: Requires access to Messages database
  • First launch: macOS may show security warnings (this is normal)

Configuration

Right-click the menu bar icon and select "Settings" to customize:

  • Monitoring frequency
  • OTP code length range
  • Notification preferences
  • Startup behavior

Build from Source

If you prefer to build yourself:

cd OneTimePaste
open OneTimePaste.xcodeproj

Important: Change the bundle identifier from com.aidenappleby.OneTimePaste to your own before building.
